Inline fram G2 fuel filter

I decided to add a little extra Insurense and I'm putting inline fuel filters in all my machines and I just wanted to make sure I'm using the right one. I read some threads that said to use a Fram G2 so I bought a few but they seem rather large compared to the quad filters that I put on our four wheelers is this large size filter the right size?

It's part #6-38778-6671 and they have 5/16 nipples but I'm able to fit 1/4 line over them

Ok thanks! Yep I figured if and when they get gummed up at least I will be able to see that that need replaced.

Next step up would be the mercruiser marine or seasense spin-on type water/fuel separator, no trash makes it through those and they have huge surface area thus aren't easily clogged by small amounts of trash.

But they're rather large, the size of an automotive oil filter.
