Thanks Seadooya,

Ok if its interchangeable that would be great...

Now I see why this boat was way cheaper than a 96, I see the parts are different...

Its way harder to find 95 parts...

somewhat sure, you can gettawy with a 96 bucket/lever.

Think you can, looking at both diagrams, just looks like a different "style", but serves same purpose...lifts up the aluminum "catch" clip.

There are so many similar parts there has to be something that works between the jetski/boat family, boat prolly needs to be larger to handle the draft of the hull - the boat does make a bigger wake when you do a high speed reverse close to the shoreline.

sorry to bump this up again, does anyone know, or does anyone have a 1995 boat sportster they are taking apart... thank you

I am also looking for an obsolete part. I went to mm-marine.com, but didn't see a "parts" link. Do you just call them?

I need the receiver that fits on the weedless grate, and accepts the cable via screw-in threads.

OK I ordered a 1996 reverse cable bucket from Sea Doo Watercraft Werks
Hopefully that will work..

I was thinking does anyone know if I can convert my boat to a 1996...
like all the parts, what is needed and what will be the cost?

Its difficult finding parts for my 1995, which really sucks, thank God I got this boat really cheap, but finding parts as been a nightmare..

Yes you can since the pumps are all very close. Since you have the new bucket comming... you will probably just need the clasp, and the mount. I'm sure you can find them on eBay cheap.

I'll take a few pics of my pump tonight when I get home so you can see every thing.

Wow your kidding? I just need to put that up there and im done? its unbelievable...

I ordered the bucket lever? i think a 97 is different than a 96, and different than a 95?

I wanted to push the buy it now, but are you sure it would fit?

That's perfect for you.Just bolt the whole thong on and you're good to go.

Chester

Ok I ordered it, I paid for it already, but I also ordered the reverse lever from Water Werkz, so basically I didnt need buy that or did i?

also, looking at the picture, maybe im wrong but it looks a little different than mine, i guess i have to wait to get it and see...

I know you got the other one I posted... but here's the pics I said I would post so you can see the clasp system.

This is my 96 Sportster.

That's after I cleaned it.

But how about this... I pulled it out of the garage, and I was working on it yesterday... and today... I find this.....

There wasn't any eggs in it yet, so I didn't feel to bad removing it. FYI... it was a robin's nest.

wow Dr. Honda, thank you so much for the pictures, that looks a lot like mine.

Funny about the birds putting their nest their, poor things, i hope you found a new home for them.. lol

im going to take pictures of mine, but i guess it looks like you guys are right, that maybe a 97 will fit perfectly, hopefully...

By the way

It looks like that part on your boat is aluminum? thats why it jumps up from $2.99 to $38.99 from 1995 to 1996?

however, it looks like it would fit, crossing my fingers, so im crazy, i ordered the whole thing from ebay at $45, and I ordered the bucket lever for $40, now im nuts, but what the heck, is better i have the new one, and make it work..

thanks you guys are awesome.

The good news by the way, i dont know if I mentioned I went crazy fast on my boat, i doubted very much i need to go any faster... me and my girlfriend were scared how fast it was going, I went so fast that i was afraid I was losing control of my boat... Im not sure if it was like 35 or 40 mph, but thats fast for me..

The bad news is that, the lifeguars stopped me, and almost gave me a ticket, they told me i have to be in the middle of the lake to do that, so i turned it off, and turned it back on in the middle of the lake, however, it didnt want to go fast again, it would die out if i put the throttle up to fast, i had to go slowly slowly, but it never went fast again, thats when i broke my reverse lever...

Yup... My reverse system is aluminum... that's why I asked if yours was.

It should work. The 4 bolts that hold the reverse assembly to the pump are all the same distance on the 140mm pumps, so since that one I posted up has all the parts... you are going to remove those 4 bolts, and remove your bracket, and replace the entire assembly.

thanks you guys are awesome.

I know. :hurray:

If you want to have fun... get it up to about 35 mph... turn to right a little, and mash the throttle full, and spin the wheel to the left. I've spun my boat so hard, that it hopped out of the water, and landed going backward. Dam near threw my wife out of the boat.

wow thats nuts, i like breathing, so maybe one day ill try that..

But do you know why it didnt want to fast again, when I put it full throttle it acted like it was dying.

Cheap, after yuo replace the "lever", try boat out again, possible, the bucket was stuck half open, with the broken piece, also look inside the pump assy from the nozzle and from underneath, make sure nothings in there...call me when parts are in.

LOL

After going crazy ordering parts here and there, and ordering a new 97 reverse assembly, I finally found someone who has parts for a 95 speedster and sportster... Whew wow, he has 5 of these levers on hand, i ordered 2.

Anyways I was thinking of keeping the 97 reverse assembly and install it later.. what do you guys think?

and by the way here is the link of the person with the parts:

Hi, I also have a 95 Seadoo Speedster and broke my cable lever as well. Can you help me with finding a place to buy some new levers?
