1996 Speedster gear shift arm broken

I’ve recently acquired a 1996 Speedster 5894 and upon taking it out on the water for the first time and enjoying myself, I broke the gear shift lever when trying to shift from drive into neutral. I’m looking for either a replacement gear shift lever or a whole assembly, whichever I can get my hands on. I believe the whole assembly part number is 277000446 but it doesn’t seem to be available anywhere. Alternatively, if anyone knows a good way to repair this. Any help would be appreciated, pictures attached for reference.

After doing some more research, i've come up with part number 277000414 which appears to be just the gear shift lever, but it's technically only listed for 97 and up, does anyone happen to know if this will work on my 1996?

Make sure you clean the shifter mechanism,,and remove the cables to the pump to see what is binding,,,you don’t want to break it again
