I need to remove registrations numbers from a used 2009 Seadoo Challenger 180 SE I recently bought. This is my first boat and I'm not sure how to go about removing the old registration stickers on the side. I can try peeling them off but they may leave behind adhesive marks.

Any ideas?

Borrow your wife's blow dryer, they'll come right off. If there's and adhesive left, shouldn't be much use acetone or paint thinner.

I used a heat gun. You can get one at harbor freight for like 10 bucks...or use a hair dryer. Heat em up and peel them off with a plastic scraper. They come right off. Then use a product called goo gone to get the glue off. Spray it on, wait 5 minutes then it wipes right off. Then wipe it down with alcohol and it will be good as new.

Remove stickers with a mobile X ray machine? That would be unique, after that your SeaDoo would glow in the dark.

well it depends, I've found just peeling them off and using Goo Gone works really good. BUT... I keep making the same mistake year after year. The wife gets the registration stickers in the mail and I have a memory lapse and I tell her to go ahead and put them on, ASSUMING she will peel the old ones off first. NOPE, just keeps putting them one on top of the other, so now that they are about 6 layers deep, I'm thinking my angle grinder should do the job, but I might give the x-ray machine a try first.

:confused:do you have to surround it with kryptonite before you use xray machine, or is that just for xray vision, im lost here, can you help a redneck out ??????

well, used that ole xray machine for my stickers, and you shoulda warned us all lou, oh yeah, took em all off, but man, found out i got a fracture in my right knee, and need 2 teeth pulled, and my rig here, glows at night now, but u said it would, looks like a casino, warden thought it was a casino, lucky he wasnt a honest one, had to give him some of my shine....

Try heating them up a bit first,... then, ....If you are careful you can use a blade from a utility knife but safer still is to use a plastic putty knife then use acetone (think finger nail polish remover) or goo-gone on it.

Just like Colt-45 malt Liquor....works every time. :)

I guess I got some splainen to do. There's a missing post, it was from a spammer who worked for a medical supply company in China. He was selling portable X-ray machines and other stuff. He and his post has been removed from this forum.

Well Lou, that splains everything. I was wondering where the X-ray machine idea came from..I never saw it.
Maybe Dr Honda took it for his office.

Heard from Criss lately??????
