I just bought a used ski and have not purchased a cover for it yet!! I noticed when I was going over it this weekend that someone has stolen my gas cap!!! Does anyone know of any anti theft type of fuel caps for a 98 GTX??? Did someone take your and now you have to take mine???

Hello NewbieSki, Lakeland here too. I have a 1999 GTX Ltd, but like Crisso, I didn't take your gas cap. Where was your ski when it came up missing? Did it have the little chain on it to prevent it from going very far from the ski? This sounds kind of odd to me. I know a guy in Bradenton that sells used parts and probably could hook you up. Let me know if you need his info.

Thanks guys, I did order one from good old EBay, I will look and make sure it has a chain attachment like the oil cap has. I think it was one of the neighborhood kids that love to play in the street in front of my house (not thier house, or yard or the park at the end of the block). I just bought the ski and the next thing is a cover. After the wife saw the bill for the $45.00 gallon of oil, $250.00 for the trailer hitch and light set, I thought I would take it easy till next paycheck. Any recommendations on the type of cover to buy??

I'm with Lou. Poppy is the ONLY cover we recommend here. Worth every penny. If someone stole the cap i would be worried if they decided to add something into the fuel tank..especially if it was kids.

The fuel contamination was a concern, I did a visual inspection and did not see anything in the tank, filler hose or elsewhere. I will put in my order for a Poppy and use the one from E-bay as a spare. You can tell from my name I am new to this jet ski business, what would be the best way to drain the gas from the tank?? New to this forum too, so should I start a new thread with this new question??
