[h=2]RARE 1995 Sea Doo XP800 - $3500 (west palm beach )[/h]
3E93Kd3N85N45J55Mbd3aa64a17335ec41446.jpg
You are looking at a 1995 sea doo XP800, only 500 produced from seadoo. hull is a factory lightweight design. and was the first ski to come with the legendary 785.

It has the original engine that was completely rebuilt with hi po rods and bearings, counter shaft as well. this is considered to be the best 785 ever produced and is considered to be a factory ported engine due to the fact that it has larger tranfer ports, intake and exhaust ports.

the mods are:

factory pipe spec 2 with a shortened chamber (from factory pipe)
buckshot billet racing carbs 47mm ski carburates like fuel injection.
gp 760 waterbox for increased flow
lightweight flywheel
milled and squished factory head with 235 pounds cranking compression. (runs on 110 octane fuel) lower the compression and it will run fine on pump fuel.
.25 over pro-x pistons
factory programmable cdi with a trick timing curve. factory MPEM
water injection
VTS with guage
large hub seadoo pump with custom prop. with factory 1995 pump extention.
r&d pump nozzle is an 82mm/85mm
r&d trim tabs
r&d intake grate
beachhouse sponsons
renthal bars on stock steering
new sealed battery.

this combination produces 63-64 mph with arm stretching acceleration. 0-50 in under 2 seconds via stalker pro radar and data.
ski was used primarily as a back up boat for a local racer i wrenched for. ski was completely built by myself and i am a former Perry performance group techician.

Currently taking offers as the value varies from person to person. ive owned it since 1999 and its always been garage kept.

condition is excellent for its age, it has a small crack in the upper deck that can be seen in the pics. hull has 0 damage and is in excellent condition.
everything is fully operational on this ski and is an absolute animal on the water.

Not a seadoo but I think Spim is/was looking for yamaha hull. Can't remember if it had to be newer than 2000 or if this qualifies??

yip, i'll look into it.. a little pricey for no motor at all. I think with those colors it used to be a xl1200, I forget,, but thanks !

Visiting my Father in Tampa this weekend, where jetskis grow on trees and cost peanuts... so I decided to take a look at the classified offerings for a new project to take back home.

http://tampa.craigslist.org/pnl/bod/3642784373.html
98 speedster, one engine new, other one needed work. I talked to the owner, hull, steering cable, gear shift cable and trailer all good.... I drove an hour and a half to pick it up LOL not a speedster, just a sportster w/717s instead of 787s. They weren't locked up but neither one looked like it had been recently rebuilt. The steering was locked up(linkages on nozzles were bent, gear shift frozen, trailer was a rusted hulk, one tire was ok second was scarry bald and dry rotted. Ok I wasn't laughing. Also looked like a crack in the bottom of the hull, not sure, didn't really matter trailer probably wouldn't have made it around the block let alone 400 miles back to the pan handle.

http://tampa.craigslist.org/hil/boa/3677735798.html
Next candidate, 97XP great condition just no spark... talked to owner, good compression, nice trailer, small scratches in hull but he assured me no damage.
Drove an hour to pick it up. Arrived, battery was missing? (normally I carry one with me but didn't have it this weekend) I ask if we could jump it off a non running car battery and he refused but assured me it would spin and had great compression. Ask for numbers, he couldn't remember but they were great! The wiring harnes to MPEM was hacked up. VTS motor was a mass of rust... gray fuel lines. One of the siphon tubes was missing from the pump housing.
The bottom of the hull looked like someone forgot the trailer and towed it down the street... 4 inches wide 20++ inches long bare fiberglass. Trailer featured no carpet on the bunk boards and no sign of any kind of lights or wiring?
He offered to drop the price from 900 to 750, yeah... not sure it would have been even a good parts ski?

Owner swears it is a 1990 GTX with a 700cc motor (657?).
The aggreed upon plan was to stop by and look at it Saturday evening (I plan to head north 5am Sunday) I called to let him know I was on my way, ask about the model and year again and in particular the last two digits of the HIN... He said 90, then I guess he decided I was asking too many questions about the HIN, title, etc suddenly decided his kids would be in bed and he couldn't show it...
Strike three...

I guess the good deal ski season is over, just over-ripe jet skis still hanging from the trees now...

yes gary, the great deals come generally between november and february, but something interesting always crops up.
actually I just finished going thru tampa/sarasota listings myself on Friday because I was heading up to Bradenton on saturday, and it was like "well, we can take the truck or my wife's car, lets see what CL has listed" ... and there wasn't much to get excited about.
there is a guy on pwctoday that has a rx and a rx di project ski in the classifieds, I talked to him about the gauges, he's in st. pete.
and I have a 98 GTXL that i pulled the motor and electronics on sitting around... if your desperate enough to take on the purple beast ! (assuming my buddy didn't get annoyed an throw it away w/o asking me lol) its stored in his back yard now.

damn gary, that sucks, sounds like just a big waste of time and gas, yea I still pretty much search everyday, haven't really seen anything worthwhile.

Gary, don't worry. you just weeded out 3 bad buys for others. As the saying goes...you must go thru a lot of lemons before making lemonade.
You'll find the right buy for you soon, just keep looking.

Yes, lots of weeds in the garden and I don't mind weeding. I have stopped driving my F350 dually on evaluation trips, diesel @ 14mpg adds up quick.

Last part of my rant didn't upload?
Anyway I enjoy looking at potential new projects, really don't mind driving but I really get frustrated with people that respond "incorrectly" to a direct question.
There is always the potential for the person simply to not have a clue but the boat was at a boat dealer, the owner of certainly knows a service-able trailer cables etc... Yes I realize you can't expect much for 600 bucks and I didn't just a little honesty.

The XP was at a automotive service shop, not sure if the owner of ski was a mechanic or the shop owner but either way chopped up wiring, bare twisted together wires, raw fiberglass 1/3 the length of the ski 4 inches wide does not make a great condition ski (or great condition anything). Certainly didn't support his assertion that the compression had been tested, was "great" no reason to let me test it...

The 1990 gtx (HIN "90") for 100 bucks well hmmm... odd, maybe a prototype?

Sorry for the long posts, I love craigslist/classified ads etc. Potential buyers just need to do their research, ask ? on the forums, take PO statements with a grain of salt (or 2) and never be afraid to walk away...
Thanks
Gary

I guess we need to put some "Scott's Fertilizer" on some of these "weeds"....:)

Sometimes it helps to have a buddy call them and ask the same and also some additional questions to see what the answers are.
PS. have that buddy make a lower offer than what you are thinking of offering then it makes your offer look better.

Basically, this is what Spim & I did when I bought the GSX last Oct.....worked out OK. The guy wanted $1200, Spim offered 8, guy said no, I talked to him then offered 9 and he took it.

and actually yours turned out to be a good purchase (well, i guess you'll know for sure in about 40 hours of ride time :) )

and I would have paid 8... i'm kind of glad the guy turned me down, I would have probably kept it, turned out to be a pretty nice ski, if the dam pipe didn't have holes in it, it would have been a lot less work :)

Usually I will call a couple times to ask additional questions and rephrase any previously answered that I deem important or suspect. I called all three of the previous mentioned sellers at least 3 times each...

I will definitely add the buddy w/offer to my negotiating tool box!
Thanks!
