That is top price for one. For that money it better be low hr and mint. In my case I bought this fresh water RXX from northern Alabama that was found in a crate way after 01. I paid the guy $3500 because it was "just rebuilt". Well the guy's mechanic had pinched the oil injection line under the intake manifold when he tightened it. Needless to say the nicest and most expensive ski I've ever had blew up right away.

So I fixed it right but I'm afraid to use it. I don't want to scratch it or anything lol. I got the new OEM cover and walla......I've got 5k in the thing! These days the RXP's are selling for that money and most people prefer the newer 4-strokes(traitors).
 
Have you run it yet on the OEM rebuilt motor? What is the top speed on these?

I built the motor up from a OEM crank. I just mentioned that because I went all the way and a lot of folks would have just put another top end in it.

I have seen mid 60's(63-64) so far but that was with an engine that was blowing up, lol. I have not pushed the new engine yet because I need to spend break in time on it.
 
That is a rumor started by their own service manual. BRP thought they would all be used as serious racers dominating the coarse. As rec riders they have routinely lasted over 100 hrs. I think it all depends on the owner. I don't ride my skis like I'm trying to kill them.
 
All three I parted out showed approx 30 hours on the mpems. All had failures that blew the cases apart. I assume all were raced.

I don't know how somebody spends 11k on a toy and then throws it away 30hrs later to keep from putting 2 more k in it. It happened all the time though.

wow ! seems like that if somebody was serious , it might make sense to fill that thing to the brim with a bunch of other misc hard to find stuff as well :)
