I got my new Poppy cover in yesterday. (YEAH) I put it on the ski yesterday afternoon just to see how well it fits. I went out this morning to work on jumping the oil level sensor wires because PO removed the oil system so the light has been on since I got it.
When I removed the Poppy cover there was a faint smell of gas. I haven't ever smelled gas when I removed the seats or anything.
Could this be from the pressure relief valve or more likely a leak I just haven't noticed?
Also I noticed while I was in there (ok I wasn't quite in there, I'm not that small) that it seems like the solenoid valve that I think opens and closes the raves has been bypassed. There are no lines hooked up to it and it appears that someone put a tee there instead and just hooked all the lines together. What will this cause/harm. Oh and how many rave valves are there supposed to be? It appears I have three.
Next the air intake silencer looks like someone has drilled holes in the top of it or are the holes supposed to be there? I didn't think so because there is no even shape, pattern or distance between the holes. They look to be about 1/4 inch.
Also we now have 100 hours on this ski and the maintenance light is on and I need a recommendation on who to take it to in Florida. I am around Clewiston but I am willing to drive at least a couple of hours to find a great mechanic or even knowledgeable individual who can help me out.
Please Help! We are so new its scary!
