Cheap gas... Death of E85?

10 yrs ago I ran straight race gas on rec boat @ $ 3.75 . 10 gallons a day for cheap fun. Last summer $5 per gallon × 50 gallons a day was brutal . Praying for sub 3 this summer.

If you went from 10gallons to 50 gallons/day then I'd suggest it might be time for a minor "tuneup", LOl! I burn less than 5 gallons most days now, and that's doing great for any jet boat. Keeping engine time to an absolute minimum is the key.

Engine time to a minimum? I run a 25' boat with a carb 460. It won't start for less than two gallons. Lol

70 gallon tank.

My buddy's 38 has twin 525s.... 270 gallon tank.

I burn gas like it's going out of style.

Engine time to. Minimum?

I Am The Opposite there. I just ride until the gas is gone then put the ski back on the trailer and go home.

Yeah, I guess I'm saying in MY case, the amount of fun doesn't closely correlate with quantity of fuel burned. Maybe I'm just getting old?

Just realized you guys are right, I am old. It's been quite a few years since running out of fuel was considered a "happy ending" as opposed to an "oh crap, now what?".

$1.99 a gallon here. Most places are $2.08 but one marathon station has been under $2 for a week now.
We were going to get hit with a higher tax on fuel and any electric cars were going to have to pay a much larger registration fee. Now they are just going to raise sales tax by 1% which would go to 7% i would much rather just pay the extra gas tax instead of the extra 1% the state is going to make out like bandits. I know I spend alot more anually on the rest of everything I buy compared to the amount of gallons of fuel I buy.

Around Atlanta metro, 87 octane with 10% ethanol is down to $2.28, but 90 octane non-ethanol has not budged from $3.69.

I don't normally use stabil with a preference for fresh fuel but stabil goes in if there's no plan to consume it within a few weeks or a month. Just regular stabil or starbrite Star-Tron, I think they all work fine.

Be careful though, having large amounts of fuel around always makes me nervous.

Will do.

Stupid people make me nervous. Lol.

Filled up at giant and the genius next to me was smoking. SMOKING. at a gas station.

My shop is detached with smoke and carbon monixide detectors. It beeps, you run like hell.
Also no less than three fire extinguishers... I do try to keep things safe. Most manuals specify to fill tanks for winter storage, with fuel stabilizer.

Can't wait until I can fill up my Tesla. In my dry, warm, safe, quiet garage, at home.
Not the freezing cold, windy, snowing, idiot line filled gas station.

I briefly ran my mower (I use it to plow) and generator to make sure they worked, even with three garage doors open, the monoxide detector went off. Shut it all down, fans on. Amazing you can't smell it, it just quietly kills you...

Yes. One shouldn't run gas engines " inside" but let's be clear, it was 1 foot from an open 10x8' garage door. One foot.

They say ethanol fuel has 90 day shelf life. I need to blow some 110 leaded thru my mower. You know the 110 leaded over one month has turned my xp fuel back to looking brand new? Weird ?

Do you guys fill right up and empty right out or keep topping up your tanks?
Fuels pretty low here in Aus being $1.35/L for premium 95. (Thats pretty cheap in Aus ha..)

I normally keep my tank less than half full and add fresh below the 1/4 mark, that's about two days use for me. Empty fuel tank for winter storage, no need hording gasoline unless maybe the price is ridiculous, LOL.

Why is fuel in Australia so much more, are there stiff taxes?
