Installed my monster this afternoon, can't wait to try them, had to modify them so they fit, had to move the mounting holes about 1 1/2 on each plate toward the center. I went with the retractor kit so you can raise the trim tabs....

1 PR500 Plate Retractor Kit $65.98
1 MT1080-80 Mobster Tabs trim tabs 189.99

A good friend of mine had a 20ft Challenger and added a set of Lenco's because he liked to fish the bay and it was normal to see a chop on the bay. The Lenco's made a huge difference in the ride with a chop. Also with the tabs down the boat jumped on a plan almost twice as fast without them. I will be running my X-20 in a river so it is not a big deal to me, but having rode in his before and after if I was boating where the water was choppy it would be high on the list to add.

Hi
i have an 1800 challenger and i also installed the same trim tabs. they work great, planes great and i even being hitting the ocean side man what a difference. but i do have 1 small problem no reverse, the tabs block the water flow rearward. i spoke to manufacturer and they don't recommend installing them dual-motors. i was just wondering if you are running into the same problem let me know thanks

I haven't tried them yet, the manufacture told me reverse probably wouldn't work, not that it works that great anyways....

Did they help with porpoising? Thats the main reason I installed them...

I finally got the boat back together and took it for a test run, the water was pretty rough waves 2-4 feet, the trim tabs made a huge difference, was able to plow thru the waves at high speed without any porpoising.

I did completely lose reverse, and actually when in reverse the boat goes forward. I plan on making a fabbing up 2 small plates to redirect the jet flow away from the trim tabs, hopefully this will help with reverse.

Just thought I'd give a final update about the trim tabs, after installing them and testing I decided to fab up some plates that would help redirect the jet pump stream away from the tabs to help with reverse, however this wasn't the case.

The tabs really help with the handling, had no issues with wide open throttle and chop, was a nice smooth ride, however we really need reverse and with the tabs installed it caused some cavitation/dragging issues when trying to get slalom skiers up, which is what we really use the boat for. So they've been removed, I may fab up something smaller without the shocks, kinda like the OEM tabs that have been addons from seadoo...
