I'm in the same boat... My hope is people will understand the rarity, and believe me I will play it up.... I'm hopin to get close to $2000 but idk... Maybe be a pipe dream but hell I see 96 Xp's go for $1500 all day long! Surely this will go for a considerable amount more?

Nice score! No doubt I think these skis are starting to go up in value but its only on the clean ones. If your ski is clean enough $2k is probably do-able but it's gotta be tip-top. Here in Michigan 96XP's are still very common but nice ones are few and far between. There are still some people asking 2k for beat up faded out ones and they keep listing them every year... the clean ones seem to take a while but do eventually sell. I'm curious how the new Spark will influence sales on these older ones...

You are exactly right... Seems to be the same way around here.... This ski is very clean in my opinion and after some buffing and polishing this thing will shine!!! The fiberglass is in great shape, not a single gouge anywhere! My problem is I wanna keep the hump seat lol.... So may be a little harder sale without that but maybe someone won't know the difference lol.... And let's hope the market stays high, but with the sparks coming out it scares me a little. I need to sell before people start hearing more about the spark lol.... I would say after a nice buff and bilge cleaning this ski should be in the top 90% of clean XP's.... Especially with the X motor

I tried to buy that one! The guy said he had someone coming to see it and it sold. That must have been you! I was going to come all the way from Ohio to pick it up. Good score, can't wait to see it come back to life!

Well guys got some bad news today... I got to work today and was told I was about to go on 7 days a week mandatory over time.... Which will really kill any wrench time on this ski... So now I'm stuck at crossroads as to what to do with it... Thinking of a possible part out of it... Posting here as kind of a feeler to see if anyone is interested in any of the parts of this rare bird? Will also be selling a few parts of the 96 I picked up as well, like the mirrored hood and bar pad assembly...

Man its only a week away from the turning wrenches. You can hold that stuff for a week right?

I think Matt Braley would be interested in the stock bar setup. I may be interested in a few aftermarket parts.

Ha no I meant it's gonna be 7 days a week until further notice... Working 10 hour shifts on second shift is a total free time killer. Last year I worked all summer and didn't slow up till November, think the longest stretch was 96 days straight without a day off.If it was just a week that wouldn't even be a question :)

There is actually nothin aftermarket left... It all got sold and what didn't went on my 96... Think the only aftermarket thing left is the sponsons....

I had a coworker offer me $1600 if I will put it together for him, not sure how serious he is.. If he backs out I will part this whole thing out, seems to be enough interest in parts... Best part is he will do all of the buffing and polishing :)

I'd jump on that deal like a hobo on a ham sandwich! $1600 is not a bad price to get. I am interested in a stock handle bar setup.

To you other guys....PM me anytime for AM parts.

I can't believe you're considering parting it out! I certainly understand swapping the A/M carbs and pipe back to stock, but hopefully you change your mind and keep it together and bring it back to it's former glory! There aren't many out there that are still as complete as this one is (looks complete minus the factory handlebars - although some will certainly argue that's not a bad thing). Also looks like it won't take much to clear up the haze on the gel coat based on your post with the buffing compound. Gel coat is pretty resilient and usually just takes a little elbow grease to bring it back to showroom quality. I'd even consider picking it up complete depending on price to keep it off the chopping block.

The good news is I think I will keep it off the chopping block..... I have a potential buyer looking at it tonight, so hopefully he picks it up.... And believe me, the last thing I wanted to do was part it out.... But, as we all know money talks, and with the way my schedule is gonna be, parting it out was the only way to make money on it at the time.... I would so much rather sell it whole! The problem with selling it outright is that outside of this forum there are not many people that understand what a 95 Xp800 with an X motor is.... Most people see a 19 year old pink and yellow ski that the owner is asking way too much money for lol.... If all else fails I will post it for sale, but if I can't get a buyer I have to go where the money is, and unfortunately it's in the parts
