gotcha..Thanks!
DAGRE147 , Considering that thing is in a thousand pieces, I think this one may be close/nearby you...no trailer, but it's "water ready" (I don't believe that line any more, seems like just because it floats, nowadays all sellers consider their ski as water ready) and looks CLEAN and has a ton of parts, and a RUNNING MOTOR... so he may be quite negotiable.. something to think about..

question though, judging by the rubrail color, it is most likely a 96 or 97 and NOT a 95, so if it came stock with a minimum of a 717 in it, why on earth would he put a 657x in it?

That's actually not a bad deal, aftermarket bars are worth a nice chunk of change

well that's what I figured... a running, titled ski, although no trailer, he may be negotiable. My HX owner was originally asking $600 for the ski and another $200 for the trailer (busted bunk, busted tail lights, no wheeljack, but decent tires), but I got him to throw in the trailer for free..usually when the price gets that low, under $750-$1,000 , the wiggle room for negotiating becomes less and less, but to be honest, worst case, you make a low offer and he says no..

She is pretty! If I wasn't already lugging this one back with me from SC I'd definitely engage on that... 657x is weird though, he must be confused

It's possible he blew the 717 and had a 657X lying around as its a bolt in project. The 657x and 717 are very similar engines in design and power

That's Bigdogtim. He buys all the cheap skis he can pic up in the Tampa area. That was his personal HX though. It's got a 657X because he sold the motor and the aftermarket ignition system out of it over on another forum. Even though he "Frankensteined" it together it is clean and might run just fine, he seems eager to wet test so that's a good sign.

The Factory pipe for the 717 was a problem for everybody at first because the exit was 34mm and burned rear pistons. They made it 38mm and problem solved if you follow their directions or just have it jetted safely as Adam says.

Yeah he got a little short and ugly one time when Nam offered him less for a ski(in person).

He was popular for a minute over on another forum as a seller. He found a steady supply of cool stuff and cut it loose cheap. But then folks began to speak out about under described parts that have issues or whatever. He is from a salty area so there is that. Regardless, if that clean (on the outside at least) HX with paperwork is a good runner then it's a deal in my book.

So a couple of new developments in the past few days. I hadn't actually paid my brother in law yet for the ski because he was in the mountains and he still had the actual factory pipe and title at his house. So tonight he told me he couldn't find the title but brought me the pipe. Im not too happy about that but he only wanted $100 now since he can't find title, so whatever still getting good parts and trailer for cheap.

Really don't want to part it out so I'm hoping he'll find it before I have to make that decision....

He's not exactly the kind of guy that will go above and beyond for anyone. My wife got all the good genes lol

You can probably file for one online or just get a bill of sale ga don't even issue titles for pwc

Florida you have to have it. I'm sure he'll find it if he looks for more than 5 minutes...I just really don't want to part it out, really want to take her for a spin

My luck the idiot prob didn't even have the title in his own name for me to even file a lost title for, I'll have to ask him

Lol oh he's one of those people. The last 2 skis I bought were never properly registered to the owners. I hate lazy ppl

Lol what's even worse DAGRE147 is if he's researching forums on how to get a new title for a seadoo and comes across you mad dogging him on the forum.. I think this'll be the last post we hear from you.. EVER... Lol

And to be honest, if he's a male sex organ or not, the next time you guys are all together, I'm pretty sure if you have the paperwork in hand with you, all filled out, and you just need him to sign it and you will pay the fees, etc, I'm sure he wouldn't have a problem just signing.. That's provided he DID have it in his name at one point.. Half the problem with getting a duplicate title is usually not being able to locate the PO, but you know the guy, so I think you'll be ok

Ugh tempting but I'm gonna hold on for the moment and hope for the title....I really wanted to make it a runner, plus I wanted the trailer if I did end up selling or parting it out
