(Still Not Solved) 97 GTX Won't Beep When Lanyard is Connected - Doesn't Start

After sitting outside for the Ohio winter (I had it "winterized" to prevent freezing damage), I tried to start my 1997 GTX. When I connect the lanyard, there is no beeping sound, the center gauge doesn't show anything, and nothing happens when I press the start button. There is also no response when I press the start button 5 times with the lanyard disconnected. What could be the problem?

Edit: I bought a new battery and installed it and still nothing works. What else could the problem be?

Hi and welcome to the SeaDoo forum.

Without knowing the particulars, I would guess the battery.

Thanks, that was my first thought too, just wanted to get a second opinion before buying a new battery... Anyone else agree?

Edit: Looking around google, I keep seeing over and over again people talking about grounding the battery or MPEM. How can I tell if this is the problem and how could I fix it?

Dead battery. If it was good last year it may simply need a SLOW charge. Nothing more than 2.5 amps if the battery cables are hooked up.

Repairing and selling iPads, iPhones and Mini iPads.

Is the battery you installed charged?

Jump the starter solenoid and see what happens. It should spark a bit and then the engine should crank. If not, then you have a junk battery, bad cables, disconnected cable, or a poor connection.

Whoever winterized the ski, I'm betting they disconnected a main wire.

I wouldn't be surprised if you're right about the main wire being disconnected. Any advice as to how to how I can find out if that's the case/reconnect the wire?
If you're talking about the plug that the positive and negative wires are connected to, that's already plugged in. Is that what you're referring to?

Just curious, was it the small black wire from the rear Ebox? Because I've done it.
