At least you got the air out of the oil pump supply line. Just make sure it's getting oil, a little too much won't cause any harm except for maybe foul the spark plugs but usually you can clean oil fouled plugs with carburetor cleaner.

Is there anyway to tell for sure if she's getting oil? I got her running but shes idling high, I think I just have the wrong adjustments..... just scared about it not getting oil for right now though

Hold the oil pump wide open with your hand at idle. You should see it move and it should smoke

96 XP800!
Keep the 2 strokes alive!

So while fiddling with the throttle cable, figured I'd check the oil injection factory alignment. I'm assuming this is way off?

Well fiddling led to this....budget is thinning so saving money where I can

this is the CHOKE cable

The tape is there until I can get something better to secure the cable to the housing.

Adjusted the idle and oil injection, a little back and forth and she's purring like a kitten! Time to throw everything back together and clean up some stuff. Waiting on the mats and seat cover and she'll be done!

My brotha, the oil pump cable is not the place you wanna be skimping on. Get a used one. If you wanna save money on this then get the cheap carb and rave gaskets from sbt, not the oil pump cable. When that fails, you'll be in a world of hurt

No CReynoldsMIZ that's the choke cable. Im dumb.... but not that dumb lol

I'll edit the post to be more clear

I've used stainless steel brazing wire to repair old frayed cables before as well, FWIW. I do like to splurge on new cables when possible but usually wait till later after the first few hours of operation once I'm sure it's worth spending coin on.

It would suck to dump money into new cables and vinyl upholstery just to find the transom fell off or the hull is split, something like that.

Looks like your oil pump lever was set too lean.

Lol I'm trying to flip this one for a quick sell so it's definitely a little far down on the list of needs. Works great for now!

While waiting on my mats and seat cover, I went ahead and started on the reg stickers

I soaked a rag in purple power and let it sit on the stickers and glue for a minute or two then hit it with a razor, which I bowed in so only the middle could touch the hull. Worked too easy, minus the dirty rag I used lol

Remind me to NEVER do that again.... especially with my wife. Thought about putting a few staples in my eyes....prob would've been less painful
