I photocopied my 787 cooling system diagram & added a few notes on winterizing with antifreeze.

I want to be sure that I completley understand the procedure & hopefully others can gain from it & also ensure it's being done the right way.

It can get cold here in the Northeast, making sure she's protected over the winter and ready for next summer is important to me.

Take a look at the pic. & feel free to add any notes.

Thanks

Karl, I'll look into becoming a Premium Member.

Right now I just require confirmation on my procedure for installing antifreeze.

Also, do I un-pinch the hose's after filling and start the ski for a couple seconds?

Thanks

If you read through the thread I attached in the previous post, you get lots of information on winterizing your seadoo.

Karl, yes, infact I did read that thread you supplied and it had great information regarding winterizing - fortunatley I understand the whole process off fogging, adding stabil and the other small procedures it describes in that great article.

You'll notice I was simply asking about the antifreeze procedure. The article says quote:

" 3) Drain the engine block and manifolds and fill the engine with anti-freeze ".

Is it as simply as that? no need for pinching and all that good stuff that gets talked about?

That's all I was enquiring about pal.

And yes I will become a Premium Member again shortly, hows that? Last time I was a Premium member I did get some great info.

Thanks,

In the first few posts in the thread it talks about pinching the lines to fill them, then un pinching them so the system will burp out any excess air. The idea is to get antifreeze to mix with any left over water in the engine.

If your still unsure what to do, Let me know and I'll post a step by step to winterizing...Im sure it's here on the forum somewhere. Just be sure if you run it first on the hose not to go longer than 5 minutes as the jet pump bearings and seals rely on the water it's in to keep it cool. There is a lot of mis informed members giving out their opinions on winterizing. The Moderators only recommend what the manual states direct from seadoo.

Karl, if you can post a step-by-step on the correct method of adding antifreeze I'm sure it'll be greatly appreciated by other as well.

There's so much talk about pinching others say no need for pinching.

That diagram I supplied of a 787 engine, is pinching the lines I described in my notes correct? if so then hopefully others can benefit from it.

Thanks

The anti freeze part is the easy part...pinch the lines fill the anti freeze then un pinch...done. Just as the manual says.

The anti freeze part is the easy part...pinch the lines

I know, I beat my head in because it's the simple things that confuse me at times. It's the hose pinch, that's got me stumped - pinching the right one.

Wish I lived in Florida so I don't need to be concerned.

I lived in upstate N.Y. till 1996 when I moved to Florida. I have been winterizing water craft since about 1975 when I worked in a Kawasaki service shop.

I lived in Melbourne, Australia for 20 years. Talk about one season all year - SUMMER. Jetskiing industry is incredible over there.

Using a snow shovel was so foreign to me, still is.
