I removed the fuel rail (two bolts hold it into housing) and one of the sleeves in the housing appears to have broken loose. When I try to insert the bolt the sleeve spins and the bolt will not tighten down. Anyone else have this problem and is there an easy fix?

Dave, sounds like you might have stripped your threads. Thats easy to do on an aluminum engine. Those two bolts are torx head, M6X25 in size. There are a couple ways of going about getting it to hold the rail down. You can probably tap it up to the next size, or go to your local auto parts store and buy a helix coil to fit. A helix coil looks kinda like a spring and when you insert it, put the bolt back in, the spring expands and grabs whats left of the old threads. That might be your easy way out......

Thanks for the reply, I am going up to the lake today and I will try the hex coil approach. I will let you know the results.

i have the same problem, it seems the brass threaded inserts into the plastic manifold slip.

Mine is sitting snug so i will leave it alone for the season but someone on a thread mentioned using an impact wrench to zip the bolt in and out.

check out the thread i started, sounds like we have the same problem.

I will try the impact wench approach in the fall when I winterize. BTW, I believe using loctite was the problem. I cleaned (wire brush) the bolt threads of excess loctite and was able to screw the bolt in enough so the fuel rail is secure. I will not use loctite anymore and check the bolts periodically.
