Not a bad list. My last XP fix was just as long!

Genius used some type of fuel line that leaked fuel! I had to replace all the lines.

Just wanted to say thanks to 99spxxx who is Minnetonka' brother. Got us the stator super fast. Hey tonka he gave me a better deal!!!! Lol! Check this out....

Nice! Mine seemed bad but not that bad.. What made you want to change that again? Were you replacing parts or was it so binded that the driveshaft wouldn't spin?

We had major cavitation so we took jetpump off and wear ring was in peices. We replaced with oem. Still had major cavitation. So I figured carbon seal was suspect. So it had to come out for inspection. It did not want to budge. So we had new parts comin so cutting it was the only option. See the pitting on stainless ring and carbon in pics? That can let air in pump and no thrust. It should be smooth as glass to create proper seal. So I think we got it!!!!the driveshaft would spin but had som rust directly behind stainless ring so no movement and I could not get clip out. It's out now though. Phewwww

The key to getting stuck collars off the driveshaft is to get them to spin first. Just lock the driveshaft from spinning, and grab the collar with vise grips and work it until it spins, then you can spin it and push it back. It will put some marks in the collar but normally still usable. Never had to cut one yet and have seen some that were nearly fused together by rust from the driveshaft, yours didn't look too bad, which is why I hate saltwater machines.

All of this is great advice.

Yea but when you say collar, are you referring to the SS ring? If so, why would you need to reuse it anyway? My DL rebuild kit came with a new one..
And I would say maybe if you were just servicing the pump or something.. But I thought I was told it's best practice to replace that DL stuff any time you take the DS out?

The collar is the part that rides on the shaft and seals/touches against the carbon seal. The ring is under the collar directly on the shaft.

Oh man it just gets better!!! So replaced parts on driveshaft. Went together no prob. Now rebuilding carbs and the little orange check valve in accel pump I torn to peices!! HARD TO FIND PART! Now what. The check valve keeps fuel in accel pump and it's now non existent. F**k. Maybe @minnetonka has one????

Just so you guys know, especially guys with 951 motors with carbs and accel pump... That little check valve is called an umbrella check valve and I got one for a Holley carb from a carb rebuilder. The check valve was in peices and helps push fuel to accel sprayers in carbs. If your take off is bad and you just can't figure it out check that check valve!!!! Puttin carbs back together today! Found one clogged low speed jet, a frozen and stuck needle and seat and lots of crystallized fuel. Ugh

Good to know it's the same or a good replacement, worth knowing for sure. I've probably got some of those laying around still, from holly rebuilds.

I think the accelerator pump diaphragms are difficult to locate as well?

This is the part. It's not the diaphragm... It's the check valve. The Holley one did not work...

It looks exactly like the Holley one but smaller diameter. It sits on the white plastic piece on cover. I got to locate one tomm.

Ok boys so I found a check valve in a small walbro carburetor gad Layin around and it fit!!! I didn't believe it... Soooo I installed it( extremely difficult ) finished rebuilding and cleaning carbs. Genuine mikuni parts needle and seats and new carb bolts.
So we went to water test it yesterday and she ran AWESOME!!! Finally got it. First time riding a 951 xp. Only thing is I was getting only 6700 rpm and about 58-60 mph. Is this about right??? Remember new wear ring, prop great, new carbon seal, no cav, rebuilt carbs to spec and high and low speed needles to spec, new spark plugs. Other than this slight issue she ran awesome! It is so diff than spx 800. It's a very heavy ski. The x4's are so light... Thank you to everyone who posted!
