Hi I am looking at buying a 99 speedster sk and I am just wondering if they are a good boat to buy or should I be looking elsewhere. I really love the look of the boat and have my heart set on one but if there no good I would really like to know. Is there any sort of major problems or any other things I should be looking for. Any help would be greatly apprecatiate. Thanks.

I think it is kinda odd they used the 787's for the 98 but only the 717's the following year. Why would they cut back? They are nice boats. I love my 98. I'm sure the smaller engines arent that much different.

Probably to reduce emissions for the size of the boat. (EPA junk) Or, to reduce cost, in-turn... changing the target market.

I am going to look for a second time at a 99 this afternoon. The boat is at a motorcycle dealership and is not near any water. If I do a compression test on the engines what should they read? I also noticed when I looked at it the first tiem that there are 2 "tubes" running in the back of the boat. Maybe coming from the exhaust. They look like they just end in the back. Are they supposed to be hooked up to something or are they some type of vent? If I can get a water hose hooked up to it, I assume it would eb ok to run it for a couple of minutes?

Seado didn't...In each yr..98/99, they offered BOTH the 717 and 787 engines. Way to tell apart, is the 717 models are labeled "SK"
That makes sense. Thanks for the tip. I thought the SK was just the model that came with that front bow cover.
