Hi folks,
This post is speedster related... but not exactly the speedster itself.
BACKGROUND: When we bought the house, it came with a boat lift. The lift itself is in great shape. Knowing that we wanted to get across the sound to the Gulf Islands National Seashore (nat'l park), it seemed that the Speedster 150 was perfect to get us to a strip of beach and back again.
THE QUESTION: Never having owned a boat lift before, I don't know how to adjust it to best fit the Speedster. Specifically, what width should the bunks be at to lift the Speedster where it expects to be lifted?
Right now, I have them set fairly narrow, so it is lifting the boat hull and it seems to be working but it is close to the keel, and I think I should have it farther apart.
Is there a standard recommendation for the Speedster... or is there a standard recommendation based on beam width?
(And yes, I am fairly new to boating and I did look up a few of those words to make sure I was using them right.
)
BONUS QUESTION: and how about the guides (those vertical poles on the 4 corners)? What width should those be set at?
Thanks, and I hope that someone has this info... or is willing to check their lift with a tape measure.
Vincent
