I thought It looked familiar! I was considering picking it up, but have way too many projects on my plate, lol! I'm in Cherry Hill, NJ. Good luck with the restoration.

I didn't need it either but damn craigslist made me do it. This will probably be the last one I buy.

From the pictures it doesn't look that bad. I am sure it just needs fresh gas and a battery, LOL.

Derrick, thanks for helping me out at the end of last season with my xpl and getting her goin - I have big plans for it this upcoming season.

Hope to see both you guys on the water this season since we are all so local.

Lol, a guy I ride with emailed on it while I was going to pick it up. I called him and told him what I was going to pick up, that's when he told me, lol. I gotta watch cl better now, hit some X4 creepers stalking the area. There was a 97spx that was on there too with a hump seat, that was the one I was after. The 97 that's on there now it's picked over. I'd like to hit the river this season with a bunch of X4's if possible.

i was literally about to be get in the car and grab it with my buddy when the old owner called me and told me that he just realized he had a $300 mechanic's bill that he had to pay (or it was his buddy's and he a had to pay the bill)... Either way, felt like i was robbed of my buried treasure. It was clearly one of those situation where the owner didn't realize what he had sitting there. He only wanted $50 since it was a locked motor!!!! (WoW - i had to ask him again if he was sure, lol) Oh well, on to the next.

as far as x4's on the river this season, YES! my current plan entails building a 96xp 951 conversion ski and have it ready to go for some sleeper races. (fingers crossed)

Hell yeah, we all have to get together & ride!

I also was looking at this one but couldn't make it down there when it first came on CL. Not like I need another one anyways. Still have to finish the new motor for the 95 XP800.

Took advantage of the day today since it was a heat wave, 63 degrees. Stripped the hull and hit it with the Super Clean. This one took the least amount ever, I did it with less than a 1/2 gallon and I didn't feel like going to Wally World to get more. This thing must have been at the dealer early in it's life when the original owner complained of melting plastic. They over filled the expanding foam bag on the exhaust side and it puffed out and touched the pipe. I took the water box out with the mount still attached and the hold down clip for the bilge doo dad on that side also popped the rivets.

Must have used a saw blade to cut it away from the pipe.

Holy smokes gunna be done with this one in record time. You trying to have this one on the water this summer? You going full resto on this one, or just clean it up?

This one is getting a "good detail". I mean, it will be nice, but not my 95 nice. I'm not wetsanding this one if the white doesn't pop that is fine with me, it will pop. Yes, I'd like it to be done for the summer. Getting ready to bust out the Wipe New. The hard part is the assembly and not to scratch anything or chip the paint.

Thats the most frustrating part. I just put the motor back in my x2 today and have a few chips from lugging it back into the engine bay. Im thinking I can touch it up with a brush. Gotta love that super clean though. Works every time. I actually found it in small concentrate bottles that are amazing.

Wow. Okay maybe im dumb, but that was a great way to remove the throttle bracket without messing up the cables if they are synced perfectly already. Gunna keep that in my bag O tricks if i ever remove the carbs again.

Not dumb at all. Work smart, not hard. I do it on every ski. My 95 Limited already had the cables disconnected when I got it. It's just one less thing to have to mess with really. Now at some point I will just loosen the one nut to remove the bracket being careful to not adjust the other nut then I'll paint the bracket. But for disassembly it one less thing to dicker with in a tight spot.

Sure is easy to spot the wrong oil on these with the lines being stained blue. I guess some people just do not even look since Seadoo even puts stickers next to the oil fill cap stating API-TC only.

Just did a little rivet replacement tonight. When I broke the ski down one of the bailer clips popped off and the waterbox came out WITH the bracket. So I detailed up the brackets and riveted them back down nice and tight.
