I bet the pump area does get pretty nasty

Another theory here......
I know about that time all the manufacturers were getting heat for the PWC "noise" issues and Seadoo even came up with the D-SEA-BEL system for noise reduction. Just riding behind them you can hear the exhaust much further away on the ones out the back than the ones exiting inside the pump area.

1 so far, on the air box. Seadoo used enough red loctite to choke a horse on those screws. I'll drill it out.
You will probably have to cut the piston off the crankshaft to separate the cases

I just bought some .010 or .25 over oem nos pistons with rings. Pm if intersted, I will let them go cheap to you. I got them at a crazy cheap price.
