When insert key after initial beep to indicate key inserted four loud beeps and seadoo will not start. Will not even try. Nothing. What does this indicate?

Removed text.

This is what the manual states but I do agree that Lou is right as that has happened with my skis.

I looked it up and it states “Watercraft cannot communicate with the DC-CDI module (XP model only)”.
For other models it suggests “Check fuse on relay located in the conventional electrical box.”

When you put the lanyard on the post you should get two short beeps. One long beep indicates means the MPEM does not recognize the lanyard, causes could be bad connection, unprogrammed or defective lanyard, try cleaning the lanyard post. That's probably why your ski is not starting.

4 short beeps means the lanyard has been left on it's post.

Lou

Check your fuses in the electrical box. Sounds like a communication error.

If the key is working correctly you would get 2 short beeps when inserted. Like Lou said 1 long beep is a key connection problem or the computer is not recognizing that key.

I'll edit my post above..

And I agree that my late model 4-tech skis do beep four times if left on and not running.

Same ski....after leaving my ski in the garage for a couple weeks while in Florida, i heard 4 beeps (I think), It wouldn't do anything else, so i charged up the battery and after that all was good. It started right up & then I winterized it.
PS. the lanyard was off the post during the 2 weeks.

Low volts in a battery can cause MANY weird and unusual events.

Beepers go off for no apparent reason, relays may lick on and of, ect ect...

If you are not going to keep a 2amp or lower trickle charge on the battery and it is going to sit for some time without use, the best thing to do is remove the ground cable.
