Some more goods just rolled in. Brand new 1st over (82.14mm) OEM pistons, I wasn't going to bore this one but one bore was a little weird. I guess from where the ring was parked it rusted a little and after I honed it I could still kinda see it faintly so I figured I'd just do it right. Had to post a pic of the rotating assembly!

This pink is the new white, it's a MOFO! It looks flat but you look at it at an angle and BAM all you get is reflection. It really messes with your eyes.

I like how you can see the hull and deck seam reflection on the side of the hull

There's a nice scratch for ya'. This thing must have been trailered on wood bunks without carpet cause it's just dug into where the bunks would be.

Sounds like the pink is a PITA, I am going to test out that air wet sander we bought months ago this weekend, I ordered a ton a sand paper for it on amazon. That pink looks like it has a light flake in it. I also noticed that you like your IPA's

I have a random D/A with velcro backed but couldn't part with the $50 for a roll of 1500 wet discs, this is a hand job. I read the reviews on the HF random D/A wet and it rattles apart. Check the reviews and you can fix it before you use it--wait does that sound right? Fix before you use, LOL.

Yes, IPA is the beverage of choice for me. I rotate through my faves.

Just read the reviews, seems as some nuts rattle loose and the water and air feeds need to be replaced. Looks like I have some work to do before using it. All the reviews are pretty much negative. Hopefully I will have better luck. Most guys said they could only use it @ 60 psi not the advertised 90

Did you get them on e-bay? I am looking for a set.

Looking great!! The pink looks real sharp.

Yes, but right now I can go to the dealer and pay what guys are asking for them on ebay shipped and there are no pairs which sux. So really there is no price savings. I can buy an OEM piston for $95.59, SBT is $99.95.

Dan - your works continues to amaze us! Are you pleased with the HF DA? I bought the Porter Cable DA a few weeks ago but returned it because the speed dial was not working. Buffed the kids car at the fast setting and was a pain. Would have been nice to have a slower speed on some of the panels.

Thanks! I didn't get it yet and might pass I'm not sure, although it gets great reviews. That's parts money right there and I can suffer with what I have now if you know what I mean. I'm a a good bit of Porter tools, but for some crazy reason can't justify that little buffer.

Ya, I know what you mean. My logic is a could buy 2 HF for what I paid for the PC. Did you get your crank from SHS? I still have the gremlins with the RFI but I am determined to get it going. I am still under my budget of $2k for what I paid for it and the rebuild last summer. I am hooking up with one of the owners from Candoo next week to take him up on his offer that I mentioned to you last fall.

No I didn't get it from SHS, this one kinda just fell into my lap. Yeah, you need to sort out those issues with the ski, I would have been at his door minutes after the offer, LOL. It's gotta be warn down there already, you're burning water time now.

Ya the weather has been warm lately and I am missing water time but I am keeping my hopes up that I'll get through this soon. I see that you have been out on the water and been busy with your projects. Always good to see your post with pics and bargains :).

Just got the tracings - I'll have them out this weekend.

Do you have Mike's info? If not let me know and I'll get it to you. Also, if you want I can pay for the shipping from you to him. I forgot to throw a 10 spot in the box to cover the shipping.

Can you PM me the mailing info? And yes, I need the $10 or you will not see your tracings again Bwahahah!

Joking - It's only a few bucks, no worries. I'll hit Mike up for a bit of a discount for the effort.

I did a little wet sanding today and it is not fun, I even used a pneumatic one and it was still a pain. By the way Dan that hf sander worked great, I locktited the screws and I didnt have a problem. It was hard to find the 5" sanding disc. I ended up buying them on amazon.

That's great news on the sander, I check with my local body supply shop and they have disc in 5". And I also checked Amazon too, that's just funny.

Went and transferred the titles today(for the 95 800 and 96 XP), talk about a hit to the wallet, but I hope to get my temp reggies in the mail in a few weeks. Hoping to drop the cylinders off next week to get bored for the pistons. More parts have been coming in, got my wrist pin bearings today, hope to see the wrist pins tomorrow as well as the OEM gasket set. Got some other parts coming from out of the country that will be here in about a week or so too.

Is this wet sanding EVER gonna stop! I just want to be done with the bottom already. Today was a good day to "reflect" on my work so far. As nice as this hull is there are so many little scratches that are just not going to come out. They must have been beaching in very fine rocks. I only hope I can make the deck just as nice or nicer.

That's so MONEY!

This is looking at the hull and the bill is 20" away on the ground. I'm glad the bottom is finally done, now onto the deck.

The big dig in the yellow, but it you look close you can see all the little rock scratches that would just look so weird filled because they just would never match.

This pink has ZERO depth.
