I know everyone has a different view on painting the inside of the hulls. I like the clean even look when it is done, along with the added protecting this bilge paint offers against fuel and oil soaking into the fiberglass. The bilge paint is made for painting the inside of the engine/bilge area of boats. I did this (only in white) to my 95 XP last year and it has held up great. I have only found the bilge paint in gray and white.
Here are the pictures after the first coat.

There was a problem we ran into with the blacktip mats I put on this. This has been stored outside with a cover on it. Well 3 weeks ago I pulled the cover off and started to wash it. As soon as I rinsed the mats I saw the corners lift up. So i pulled a little and the whole section came right up.
It all peeled up very easily. None of the adheisive stuck. I was very dissaponted in these mats. I noticed that the blacktip mats do not have 3m adheisive on them like hydroturf does. It looks like blacktip goes with a different brand. The adheisive only took in a few spots. I cleaned the area very well with acetone before I put them down. I have put many sets of mats down and this is the first set I have had problems with. I usually use hydroturf though. After I noticed that the mats pulled up I forgot to cover the seadoo and I have a huge trees in my back yard that drop helicopters, so this thing was cover in bird crap and helicopters in a week. No problem though a quick rinse and she looked good again.

Yes. We are positive. The bilge paint was applied AFTER the mats lifted up. I just painted the inside last night. The mats were lifting off a couple of weeks ago and we pulled them completely off yesterday morning since we had the ski at the warehouse.
Besides, the mats are on the outside of the hull and the bilge paint was on the inside.
I'm not a fan of bilge paint, it looked so clean before. Major bummer on the mats though. I will be keeping a close eye on my Blacktip mats, my skis have been indoors so far but as soon as I get a cover for the XP they are moving outside.

2 toned hydroturf is the way to go or any hydroturf for that matter. I ordered 2 sets from pwcmuscle on 6-3 and have yet to get an update or tracking number. I usually order directly through hydroturf though.

If you store ski outside water can get under mat and if it freezes it will separate mat from ski because of expansion. The mats looked a little dirty. You sure it was squeaky clean before you laid them down

The ski was stored outside and covered. No water was in the foot wells when we removed the cover. The mats are dirty because we didnt cover it back up after we found the issue. Mostly because of disbelief and frustration, just had to walk away and kinda forgot about it . If you look at the pictures on the first page, you can see what the ski looked like before the mats went down. This isn't Jetskigoodies first time putting mats down, but it is the first time he has had problems with them.
Two tone Hydroturf mats are on order.

Yes the hull was spotlessly clean and I had wiped the area down with acetone really well. The mats are still tacky so when I sprayed them with water all the edges lifted up. I just left it uncovered and all the crap that fell on it while it was uncovered just stuck to them. I already knew they were junk and were going to come off. I was not happy at all when I saw that :cuss::cuss:

Today I worked on the carbs, I did a pop off test and both needles and seats had to be replaced they were leaking very badly.

I know neither of us have had any time at all to up date on my ski.
Saturday, I buttoned up most of the small things on the inside of the hull. Ran fuel lines, oil lines, electrial ect. Left the warehouse around 3am.
Sunday jetskigoodies and I spend most of the day getting all the little things done on his 99spx. HUGE letdown when we couldn't get his started. Put the battery in mine (don't let me forget to give you that back matt). Put rave valuse in. Cranked for a few seconds, nothing. Tried again and she fire up for us. Runs and sounds good. I'll try and get some inside finish pictures tomorrow if the rain holds off.
Now its just finishing up the handle bars, nozzle on back of pump, hydroturf, trailer bunks on two place trailer and go thru the bearings on trailer. All before 7am Saturday before we head up to Higgins for a LONG overdue weekend on the skis. I've been starting the ski every morning for a few seconds and opening the oil pump wide open to get all the oil thru those lines.
I defiantly owe Matt and RJ for all the help I've gotten on this project...and for the ski itself.

I do have to admit the inside color scheme on this looks great. We did spend ALOT of time at the warehouse this weekend. Hopefully we will have both of ours broken in by the time everyone else shows up in the middle of the week.
