What's winter?
Rod

Someone send him a snowball.

First off... you suck !!! I grew up in SoCal, and now I'm stuck in cold a$$ Pittsburgh PA. I lived around Fullerton most of my life. I moved back here when I was about 27. (now I'm almost 40)

Getting back to a winter project... I think I'm going to work on my model airplanes a little more than I have been doing. Since digging myself out of my depression... I have been forcing myself to keep my mind occupied with my RC toys, and over the last month or so... I finally got my turbine waiver !!! For people who don't know... to legally fly an RC model with a real micro turbine engine, in the USA... you need to be qualified, and registered. It's basically like a drivers license for RC Jets. The reason they did that is because of the safety and fire issues. The jet I built is small by some people standards... but it's still 21 Lbs with fuel... it can reach +170 MPH, and it carries half a gallon of fuel. (makes one hell of a fireball if it would crash)

Yikes, the snowbound get touchy about the winter!!!! I'm originally from Syracuse, the armpit of NY & home to the worst winter weather of any major city in the US. After almost 40 years of it I had to get out, so I understand the reaction!

@speedster; Well if you lived in the armpit of New York I'm not sure where that puts me(Port Byron). Last year it was 61 degrees on Dec. 1st and we had over 36" inches of wet snow by the 10th., that's winter. I lived and worked in south Florida years ago and couldn't wait to get back to a change of seasons and the beauty of the Fingerlakes. Winter project; '95 xp, recently rebuilt engine installation, purchased from SES out of Horsham, Pa. Have replaced grey fuel lines, rebuilt carbs, and looking to re-locate "pee hole", I have to contact Dr. Honda about that one.

Tony, that jet is wicked awesome.
how far can it fly and you still be in control.
Better watch out for National Land Security.......LOL

I hate winter... and I can remember 90 degree X-mas mornings as a kid. There was no such thing as "Winterizing" your toys. Basically, in Jan and Feb... you just didn't want to take it out in less than optimal conditions.

I have a bunch of them on the shelf. Shoot me a PM any time you want. Also... they are on my website if you want to order with a credit card.

Thanks. Right now, there was a scare within the RC jet community. The FAA was wanting to basically shut down RC jet and UAV operations in the "Hobby" market. They don't want people making home made smart bombs. The AMA has been fighting for us, and right now it looks like the government isn't going to mess with us too much. The real fight is... that the tech is now out there to build "Smart" weapons at home, and like with guns... if the ban them totally... that won't stop the people who actually want to use them for bad reasons.

As far as control... if I can see it... I can control it.

Would like to see if it's possible to install a reverse system to my one operable 99 GS. Anyone heard of this? Seems like it would be nice to do a engine warm up while at the dock in neutral.Shure i can warm it up by jumping on it and riding but i perfer a warm up to op temp. I think one out of a 95 or 96 gtx with the push pull control handle would work.
Also need to change fuel lines now that i got this thing running. Pee thingy relocation in the works.
Want to build an engine for the other GS. Got a good bottom end but need to go with a new top end.

pu$$y...lol ;)

I'm in jetski mode till about Halloween, then they get put away and its snowmobile mode for me. I bought a new chassis last year b/c mine is so beat up. So I have to basically rebuild my sled from the ground up..its a 02 Pro-x 440 w/ a 800. New chassis is an 03.

I do have a bunch of repairable jetskis to put together this winter...99GSXL, 97 XP, and a 96 XP.

NICE !!! Pro X are BADASS her is a pic of my 700XCSP

My 2 projects are a 2003 GTI motor was out when I purch it and a 98 GS I got with no engine gonna build them both

I used to have a 1978 (bought in 84 for $200) Polaris TX-340. It had 2 cylinders and twin carbs. It was fast in it's day. Now with the engines being 700 up to a 1200 my little puny 340 wouldn't stand a chance. I traded it for some work on my Seadoo right after I bought in 2006.
I had great fun riding it on the lake during the winter.

My 97 GTI is in need of some help! Thinking my motor mounts are bad as it spat the driveshaft out of the pto. I imagine it will need a pto, driveshaft(splines are hammered), and mounts. Figure it's a good time to replace oil lines, freshen top end ect ect. I hope to have it out soon and get parts headed my way. Also my 97 GSX has a few small items that need fixed. Plus a Honda CB125s to restore and my son wants a stand up jetski like a js550 or a 650sx that will surely need painted his favorite Kawasali green color.
