Guys,
This past weekend a bunch of us went out on Crystal river for some cruising and my son wanted to get in a little wake-boarding. The weather was in the Mid-70's on Sunday and was beautiful!
Some may recall, I recently replaced my impeller with a Solas and also replaced the wear ring. A on water test following the work proved a significant improvement in performance. This past weekend however I experienced severe cavitation again out of the hole. I had to feather the throttle to get my son out of the water and eventually the boat would hook up and pull well but the holeshot is really bad...again. NO I HAD NO DEBRIS in the pump and I never sucked up anything.
Could the wear ring be gone in such short order? Could I be sucking air from the engine compartment via the shaft or ride plate or inlet grate fasteners?
