decided to change my wear ring impeller and carbon seal and looks like ill be replacing a few other things upon further inspection. when i pulled nose cone off expecting pump oil to come out, there was just water in there... should i have the pump rebuilt should i send it out and have it re sealed with new bearings? who can do this? thanks

You can do it yourself, it's not that hard, a rebuild kit, all new seals and bearings is about $60.00 and you can get the tools from Dr Honda.

I agree. Its not hard at all. I've been doing it for many years, with a press I build from a 1/2 ton hydraulic jack, attached to a wood frame, using pieces of pipe to fit the I.D and O.D of the bearings and seal. Though it's not hard, there are a couple tolerances I have to measure, because I'm not using the bearing tool kit that Seadoolou has pointed out. Using it automatically sets the bearing depths.

Make sure to replace the Oring on the cone and do a pressure test on it once you have it all together.

Yeah like they said, you need a rebuild. For future reference, that is why i chane the oil every year when i winterize.

Yes, oil should be changed once a year on all the older 140 pumps. The newer 4-TEC's use grease and a lot more maintenance free. So, when down for the winter, check your oil. Anytime you get water in your oil, make sure if it's time to replace bearings and seal, you do a measurement on your shaft.

Thanks for all the advice, I just bought this ski over last summer looks as though the previous owner was slacking on some of the maintenance...
