Hello. I have been wondering this question for a while since I was walked on the lake by another ski. I have a 2003 Seadoo GTX 185 S/C and I am wondering if it would be best to upgrade to the 215hp version or put in a stage 1 Riva kit? Which do you think would be cheaper? Which would be faster? Just looking for some feedback to help me make this decision. Thanks.

stage 1 on 185 still won't touch a stock 215. to beat a stock 215, you'll need quite a bit which means quite a bit of money. you'd be better off selling your ski and getting a 215, or better yet a 255. then upgrade from there if you want to go faster.

Also, your 03 sc has the crappy plastic pump which will never support any more hp so you'll have to replace that first if you haven't already.

Agreed, cheaper and easier to get a 215 or 255 and upgrade from there.

I have an 05 GTX that is stock and staying that way, runs right around 60mph on a good day. I'm also on the lookout for an RXT or even better would be an 08 or 09 RXT-X, love that colour scheme.

Thank you for the replies. What would you recommend for the best build platform? I no longer need a 3 seater as we have placed an order for a new boat which means no more towing tubes and wakeboards with the ski

If a 3seater is outa the question...get a p-x. It all really depends on the water you ride.....how fast you wanna ride...and your skill.

Very hard to beat the RXT-X/P-X format. I absolutely live my RXT. It puts a smile on my face every time I ride it. I bought 600 dollars worth of mods three years ago and have not put a single one on yet. Just have not found the need to do so.
