Thrust slippage?

Have 07 Utopia SE/155 hp twin. Out yesterday and the left engine sunddenly began to "slip". I can throttle up to 5k and get sluggish performance, but after that it seems to slip just like a worn clutch. Is there a centrifugal clutch, or is it a direct drive? What else?

It's cavitation. Check the impeller and wear ring first. But, if you have a tendency of running it out of the water, for long periods of time (during a flush) you could have burnt up your carbon seal. (The seal on the driveshaft)
