Since this seems to be working for Fl and Al, I thought I'd start one of these for Texas. There are always a few interesting deals down here, and we've got a few folks around from Tx as well. To start off, here's a nice looking 96 xp asking 750 that " needs a motor", maybe a candidate for one of the restoration threads for the winter.

great idea Striz !
I can say that the threads DO work !
The FL thread is responsible for one ski in my garage right now and maybe another by the first of the week.
another ski in the back yard was the direct result of a member here that caught an add that was incorrectly listed and it turned out great.
once you get a couple guys posting the results are impressive..
Good Luck !

this is one of those deals that will drive the northern guys crazy ! actually if this was in FL i'd be calling with questions, I absolutely love the 99 spx, IMO its a nice improvement over the 96 xp and has the right color scheme as opposed to other spx model years with some hideous color choices made. but i'd love to have that ski, swap motors with my 96 hull and sell the 96 off. I think the 99 is just a beautiful ski.

prob one of the most basic rolling stands i've seen, i might needa copy that

i agree, very basic design but it works. or copy the aquacart (i have one, i can give dimensions) and you can dump the riser and just use 2/x8 or 2x10. The stand (or two of them) will allow very compact storage of multiple ski's while working around the woman's refusal to give up the garage (i've been told many times that it has something to do with hair)

Tim, Another ski in your neighbors garage is mine, also from an CL ad that someone posted in the "Florida classified" thread.

I'm shocked by how clean that Texas clean is. The hulls on the first and last post look like time travel results!

It is amazingly clean, I'll try to get some good pics of my 95 gtx, it's another result of always being stored inside.

Don't get me wrong, the Texas sun is brutal, and there are many examples of what it can do to fiberglass and plastic on cl.

here are the pics i was trying to post last night, photobucket isn't very easy to use on an iphone. this is my 95 GTX that just hit the water again for the first time on friday. it was stored in a garage for the majority of its 17 years.

The ad states that it is a 800 cc or also known as the 787.

its a 96 spx, 718, the next year they were yellow bottom, white top with yellow hood and seat and had the 787 until 99 when they ended.

also theres this pic of the engine:

edit: BUT for 200 bucks, i wouldn't mind having a 718 and associated bits around for when the 657x in the gtx kicks it... AND i'll be in dallas this weekend. if i only had a trailer to drag it home on.
