Good morning everyone,
Just picked up a 97 speedster, pretty nice boat, just needs some work.
Quick question, one of the tachs don't work and the speedometer doesn't work.
I've switched the cables and the other motor does work with the other tach, so I'm guessing it's bad.
I see them listed on ebay and they look like it would the fit, the exact model # is $125 compared to ones that look like they would work for under $40.
The only difference I can tell is instead of a blue cable with 3 prongs, there are 2 purple cables with 2 double prongs.
Anyone know if it's just a simple rewire into the existing plug or does the computer throw different readings to the tach?
I'll work on the speedometer next, but took it apart and it's getting voltage, so it may be bad also.
Thanks for your feedback,
Ryo

Curious if you found a solution here or if anyone else has? I have the same issue with the port side motor tach in a 95 speedster with the dual 657s. If there is an after market tachometer that will work can someone post a link to it? Thanks!

Chad

No, but I did order a different tach from different year. Just haven't tried it yet. From what I read as long as it's made for a stroke it should work. Tbd....
