I was wondering what I can do I have a screw on the drain plug that is striped it gets tight but if you tighten it slips. Should I just but some silicone in there or use the next size self tapping screw? Any suggestions would be helpful

I'm not understanding. Is it the drain plug that's stripped... or the hardware holding the drain plug housing to the hull?

in general, assuming we're talking the plastic plug in the back

if the plastic plug is stripped, just visit ebay and buy one for $5.

if the hardware is stripped, ie: the plastic is fine but its no longer holding strong, then i've gotten away with using a bilge plug adapter, $7-9 at local hardware/marine supply store, just bring your plastic plug in to match up the size.

If it is the securing screw that holds the housing to the hull, I agree with the others above.

Next size up with some sealant and or fill it with something that cures hard and drill a pilot hole then put the screw back in with sealant.
