My mate has a 99 XP and when he tries to starter it has a squealing sound (i think from the starter motor).. It doesn't crankt he engine so im pretty sure its that.

Was wondering on wheather it would be a good idea to change it ourselfs.. does anyone have a doco on how to do it ?

Many thanks :)

airbox/lid

reach right into the middle at top, and feel for a lever spring. Pop that, along with, removing the side vent tubes, then if room doesnt allow, may need to relocate the oil resivoir for now, so you can snorkel out the lid/airbox from the carbs...good luck.

Hi seadooya .. is this relating to the starter motor?

SeaDOC - doublecheck your battery and voltage at the starter - low volts won't let the bendix engage and it will whine...
good luck
