I have a 97 xp and I just replaced the starter and have the same problem. The first push of the starter button the engine turns over for about two to three seconds. Then after that the solenoid just clicks, I have checked all the connections and are all good I have changed batteries with my other ski and the same thing happens. this is the second starter that has done this, I even put jumper cables on the battery from my other battery same thing. Fist time it hits then just clicks. just looking for clues just want to winterize it.
