any opinions on whats the best prop to get me out of water fast while wakeboarding without killing my top end? i have seen solas concord, skat-trak swirl, and nu-jet destroyer. any opinions on what is th ebest and also where i can get it cheapest?

I havent seen any comments on the nu-jet's. I just asked the same question and everyone told me that if I am looking for more grunt out of the hole, the Swirls are the way to go. you may loose a few MPH off your top end though. I have read that the Solas gives you a good gain all the way around but just not as much out of the hole as the Swirls.

I cannot comment on the others, haven't used them.

But switching from stock to swirl was a GREAT improvement on my little boat.

I called Impros and asked for Dave, and he set me right up right.

I am a decent sized guy, 6' and 210 lbs, and even when I peaked at 225, the single 787 yanked me right up on my wakeboard. I don't get dragged through the water at all, just instantly pop up.

ironically before seeing your posts i called impros after a google search not sure who i talked to but they hooked meup with a swirl. i should get it friday and be in water saturday. hope i have the same change as you because i love wakeboarding and my boat just isnt hacking it as is.

make sure to replace the wearing, and neoprene seal on the pump, to avoid any cavitation issues..

The neoprene seal is only a couple bucks, and makes it much easier to remove your pump next time you need to rebuild it.

yea but i ordered my impeller to be here friday so i can run it this weekend. i would never get seal in time

That is one of the most frustrating things about working on these things. Local shops seldom have any parts in stock, and on almost every repair, I dig into it and find one more part I need and have to wait another week for it to be mailed in...

Where in PA are you?

I find that most of the local dealers around Da' Burgh' have the seal on the shelf. It's a very common and cheap item, as it's used in almost all the SeaDoo models. If you glue the pump to the shoe... the seal may eventually break because of the torque and vibration... and if you have to remove the pump later... it will be dam near impossible.

When I bought my boat... the pump was glued on, and I almost broke it trying to pry it off.

Just buy the seal for the next time you have the pump off..

Until recently I didn't use seals or gasket maker and didn't have any issues, but having the seal will rule out issues with cavitation, I bought bunch and add them when I have the pumps off... :)

well i bought the impeller but impros sent the wrong size.. to big by 40-50 thousandths. they are not available till monday because dave who does the refurbs left. pretty dissappointing but i will be having them send the seal. anyone else have the experience that the gentleman above has had with the skattrak swirl? i weigh about 185 and just hope i have no problem with wakeboarding.

Am I the only one who finds humor and irony in these statements?

"...make sure to replace the...neoprene seal on the pump…"

"…the seal it easier and reusable."

If the seal is re-usable, why replace it every time? Either it's replaceable and the existing one should be perfectly fine unless it shows some kind of damage, or it gets replaced every time because it's not meant to be reused.

i finall got everything back together and its running. i do get pulled right out of water with the wake board but feel when i dont have the wake board hooked up it should get out the water way faster. i takes a good 20 seconds to see plane. any opinions?

I'm not sure if your definition of "on plane" is the standard definition, but if so, you've got serious problems. You should be on plane in less than 5 seconds. In fact, you could probably be at top speed in less than 20 seconds.

Well moron, cause seadoo didnt use the seal from the factory, and wanted you to use a sealant which is a pain ass to remove, the seal is an aftermarket addon to make life easier.

does it seem like its cavitating? Make sure to check the carbon seal, and you may want yo reseal the ride shoe, I've only has the twins so not sure how long the singles take to pane.

Thank you for your thoughtful reply. I hope someday to be as intelligent and kind as you.

The strange thing is, I clicked on the link earlier in this thread. The link that takes you to parkeryamaha.com, with the seal in discussion. Funny thing is, that is listed as a BRP OEM part. Just to be sure, I took the part number off that page and looked it up on another site where I buy genuine Sea-Doo OEM parts, and sure enough, that's a Sea-Doo part.

So, maybe you should take a moment before you are so insulting and get your facts straight. Do you talk so condescending and hateful to people in person or only when you can hide behind the anonymity of the internet?

Yes, it a sea-doo part, did you bother to look at a parts diagram? It's not a listed or shown part for our boats and jetskis, but is highly recommended.

This may be the best response to a troll I have ever read.

Edit: Wow I just realized I dug this from the grave. O'well
