Should I sell now or wait?

I know I just bought the Speedster but I also know this is the right time to sell. Do prices typically go down half way through the season? I bought this boat because it was a decent deal but after taking her out I still feel the need to do 70+ so i'm back at looking at jet skis. I'm just looking for input on what you folks think shes worth and if it is worth it or not to sell. I want a 3 person supercharged jet ski but am trying to figure out what I would get out of the speedster vs. what I could get in a ski. Thanks for the input!~

I agree with the rodent, but frankly, if your plan is to sell, I see absolutely no reason to wait and try later, you only need one buyer.

Give it a nice coat of wax, take some cool pic's of it (a nice sunset pic always works lol), Armour-all the tires, pressure wash & spray some shiny crap on the engine, and put it up for sale on CL asking top dollar.

The worst that happens is a couple people bug you by txting you with $2500 offers at midnight (I had one last night at 12 friggen 30 texting me...

So at worst, you waste some time, the best is that you sell it for top dollar earlier in the season. a 99 speedster should get you a decent price what were you thinking value wise ?

does that speedster have the twin 720's or 800's?

It is an SK which is the 4 seater with the 720's. It's my understanding the 720's are more reliable.

I listed her on craigslist for $7000 or trade for a nice ski. I guess it doesn't hurt to see what people offer....

I think now till about July prices are consistent. Somewhere between 6 and 7 grand depending on the buyer and how bad you wanna sell it.

Yep... what they said. Prices are good... but there will be more buyers when the weather (and water) gets warmer. Since the boating season is short in OH... you need to sell it before July 4th.

I second what the dr says, I've sold for many years in Ohio. After July 4th, prices go way down. Good selling season starts in May and peak season is right around mem day. I make sure I do all my selling by the 4th, otherwise, I'll keep it till next spring. Only a 2 month selling season makes it tough on guys.

I think $7k is a little high but a good starting point, a little over $6k is more of a finishing point if it's clean and in good working order.

In the Burgh... I've seen SK's sit for $5k. $7k is hard to swallow on a 13 year old boat. (Even if it is clean)
