As stated only 12 Hrs on 2006 GTX SC. Been winterized and serviced yearly only used in lake water. Kept at previous owners lake house in summer. Stored inside in off season. It looks and is mint!! Has trailer and factory cover included. Supercharger washers have not been changed per owner. But engine has had no troubles. Seller asking $7500. Seems a bit steep. But like I stated its mint. What's a fair price to pay?

Yeah, I'll chime in.....check NADA to see what it's really worth. That'll give you a good idea on what you should pay. It does seem a bit high to me.
As far as the SC rebuilt......I totally dissagree. Yeah, it's probably a good idea to pull the SC out and change the washers but with 12 hrs on it, it's a waste of money to rebuild it. Recommended rebuild is 100hrs so take it from there. Yeah you have to pull it out to change the washers but it's a quick and inexpensive fix.

i just paid 6200 for the exact came thing... brand new 2013 trailer.. and only 8 hours.. just MAKE SURE YOU CHECK ALL FITTINGS AND HOSE CLAMPS BEFORE YOU TAKE IT OUT ON THE WATER.... mine blew off and it nearly sunk..

make sure you rebuild the SC also before riding it!! rebuilding the SC is recommended at 100 hrs. OR 2 YEARS... remember ceramic becomes brittle over time and it will fail.. and when it does it can only go into the motor.

another thing i should add... try to see if the dash was replaced at any time.. even though the dash claims 12 hours.. the dashes are subject to water damage and will fail over time.. the true hours will be stored on the ecu.. for example if i have 170 hours and my dash blows.. if i dont "marry" the dash to the ecu and i put a brand new dash into the ski... the dash will show 0 hours. dash problems and replacement are very very common for these skis.

is it the 185 SC or the limited 215 ?

It's fairly new and has very low hours on it. We are now into summer months which means the price will go up on all skis,,,

If you can get it for around 6 grand I would think it would be a decent deal for you.. If it was winter time, you could likely get the ski for closer to 5200 I would bet.

185 GTX SC
Now I'm concerned about dash replacement. I'm going back to look at it tomorrow. Was wanting to buy it but now I'm going to have to look for dash replacement. And if I buy was really only wanting to change SC washers instead of rebuilding. Decisions, decisions...

He's going to try to find out if it's been replaced. With only 12hrs, it could be that someone replaced the dash and the ski actually has much more hrs.

The hours are actually written to ECU and read from the display. It is very easy to replace the ecu with a new one, I'm not saying thats the case but I had to replace an ECU for an 04 sportster and it read 0hrs. I think the dealer is supposed to install the ECU and write the hours into the new ecu.

Hrs checked out all original. Bought it today for $6100. Can't wait to get out on water except Mo. has turned to winter for a few days.

That's a good price. Congrats! Now we need pics and you need to rebuild the sc and enjoy it

Thanks!
How do I post a pic?
As for supercharger I'm thinking of just changing washers this season and waiting till 80 hrs to do rebuild. Just not sure yet.

i upload to photobucket and copy and paste the img code in the reply box.. of just upload through tapatalk

if it were me and my ski.. the SC would have been pulled and on its way to jerry already.. but thats just me.. alot of guys convinced me it wasnt worth the risk of paying 500 bucks now or 3500 for a new motor when the cradle gives way, either way good luck with your new ski cant wait to see the pics!

Thank mattydipps!
I have considered having it rebuilt now. Still like winter here in Mo. Who is Jerry? How do I get in touch with him?

Go over to GreenHulk dot net and see his post on SC rebuilts. I just had mine done after 158 hrs, very quick turnover and he's a great guy to talk things over with.

Lots of pro's and con's concerning sending it out to get the SC rebuilt. Nothing wrong with running this thing until around 100 hrs to get it rebuilt. There is absoulutely no compelling reason to spend extra money rebuilding a SC with only 12hrs.

Again, if it was me, I would run it for the season and then change the washers over in the fall. Sea Doo made hundreds of thousands of these, maybe even millions and yes there is an issue with ceramic washers but plenty of folks have let these things sit and then run them a few years later without issue.......if your the least bit concerned, change them over and your good to go until you get close to 100hrs.

duboisdl,
That's exactly what I am wanting to do. Enjoy it conservatively for this season and get used to it. Take out supercharger in fall and replace washers. Wait a couple of seasons and then do rebuild.
Plus I'm still tinkering with finishing up on the 95 GTS. New batt, fuel hoses, fuel filter and trailer tires.

Once upon a time there was a new rxt owner. He'd never heard about sc clutch washers needing replacement...and certainly never heard about the bearings needing replaced every coupla years at most. All went well for this new rxt driver the first year...he learned some...found some new friends...discovered some great info about his new toy. man, it was gonna be more expensive than he thought.

After the first year he figured he'd pushed his luck far enough and sent his sc in for a washer swap. After all...couldn't be too careful could he? The subject of bearings being replaced had come up...but if he was gonna do all that he might as well do a full rebuild....just couldn't justify the coin, after all...his ski was only just a year old.

The second year went pretty much as the first...except for the new desire for more speed. He'd done all the freebies...but everything was still stock...except for the sc washers. Then one day he entered a charity contest. During this event he was cruising at 60mph or so...in like company...when all of a sudden his ski stopped...literally in about a 100'. Ski wouldn't turn over.....sc intake was hot....figured the worse. His ski only measured 172hrs....and only 60 or so after his washer swap.

Later that night...upon removing the sc he discovered the bad news. His front bearing cage disintigrated...allowing all 7 bearings to group on one side of the shaft...allowing his sc wheel to touchdown on the housing...at 40Krpm or so....sending a cloud of aluminum dust into his throttle body and coating his oem inter-cooler.

He was however amazingly lucky in one very important respect....every single bearing stayed with the sc and not into the motor. He also recovered 99.9% for the cage that broke.

A complete sc was now on the "have to buy in order to even run" list. Hind sight...being 20/20 like it is...a full rebuild instead of just a washer swap should have been the call in the first place...instead of waiting for the "next time".

Suit yourselves fellas.

I'm going to copy and paste this every time someone suggest to just replace washers on a older ski with low hrs.
