Seat repair inquiry

I've got a 1999 Challenger 1800 that took some hail damage to the vinyl on the two front captains chairs. (totally trashed actually) I spoke with the local Seadoo JetBoat shop and they said that Seadoo doesn't sell replacement seats for this boat anymore and that the upholstery guy they contract with told them that the captains chairs are the only ones that he can't re-upholster, due to the complexity of the seat curvatures.

So, anybody have any experience with this? Find a shop that could do these? Maybe some seat covers?

Thanks!

I recently bought a 99 sportster 1800. The seat vinyl was trashed on all of the seats, so I checked around and found a local guy to redo all of it. I see you are in Aurora and this guy is in Colorado Springs where I live. I just got my seats back last week and he did an awesome job. I'll take some pics when I get home tonight and post them.

With the right shop you can get almost anything recovered...
Just takes patience, a heat gun, and some nibble fingers
I'd call around.

Awesome. Thanks!

zxrider,

Here are the pics of my seats after being redone. Guy I used did the seats as original, using allsport vinyl which stretches and allowed him to recreate all the original curves and edges without creases in the material.

Thanks for taking the time on posting those pics Jeff. Looks like really nice work.

In case I have to head down to the Springs to get this done, what is that guy's name / number?

He may not be the cheapest around, but for me the quality of the work and the materials he used were well worth the investment.

looks like I might have to ship my seats to him as well... trying to get the blue marble hydro turf real soon, wonder if he can match just the colored portion of the seats with that pattern?

He can probably match pretty close. The color he used for mine was slightly darker, but I think it turned out way better that the original. If the "sport stretch" material is used, it can be matched to just about any curve/shape.
