Probably should have checked with the forum first but when ordering some parts from Cheap Cycle Parts saw an OEM tool kit listed under accessories and thought that might be nice to have on the ski. It cost about $25 plus shipping. Was sorely dissapointed when it arrived. The plastic sleeve is not waterproof, does not even have a tie or snap to keep it closed. The only tools it contains are a cheap tube spark plug socket & bar, a cheap 10mm wrench, a cheap 4" flat screwdriver, and I believe a cheap pair of pliers. Tried to return it, but since they evidently get it dropped shipped from somewhere else they wouldn't take a return.

Just Imagine what you could have bought for the same money from harbor freight and it would have been the same or better quality.

Amen. I'd like to know just what you are supposed to do with a 4" screwdriver? Looks like something that would be in a kids toy!

That sucks that they take it back.
****Call your credit card company if you use one for that purchase and tell them the story, they may cancel the payment.

for better or worse, i've made fun of that tool kit before, but it bailed me out once, I left my tool bag behind and the only spark plug wrench we had was this terrible thing.. but it saved me !

hey; i've used that tool kit to save me from water sucked in! pulled the plugs, cranked it, replaced, started up!

I agree that the tool kit can be useful as I too have used it in a pinch, but not something I would pay $25 for.

fortunately you didn't ! lol
but my "tool" bag is a little more comprehensive, and certainly not as flimsy

Anything is better than nothing in pinch, you should see what I can do with a butter knife! I'm just surprised that's the best Seadoo could come up with. I can just see a bunch of engineers sitting around a table and designing that kit! They must be laughing now!

oh i agree ! but really except for the cheap screwdriver, the kit serves its purpose well, so for what its designed for, which are basically shoreline repairs and small size, it fits the bill.

Makes sense, guess I'll throw the thing in my hatch along with a few other things. Just saw this story about engineers!

A man was crossing a road one day when a frog called out to him and said: "If you kiss me, I'll turn into a beautiful princess".
He bent over, picked up the frog and put it in his pocket. The frog spoke up again and said: "If you kiss me and turn me back into a beautiful princess, I will stay with you for one week."
The man took the frog out of his pocket, smiled at it and returned it to the pocket. The frog then cried out: "If you kiss me and turn me back into a princess, I'll stay with you and do ANYTHING you want". Again the man took the frog out, smiled at it and put it back into his pocket.
Finally, the frog asked: "What is the matter ? I've told you I'm a beautiful princess, that I'll stay with you for a week and do anything you want. Why won't you kiss me ?"
The man said, "Look I'm a software engineer. I don't have time for a girlfriend, but a talking frog is cool."

On a side note...has anyone found a tool pouch that holds up? I keep buying $30 ones from the motorsports catalogs and due to the shaking and ass kicking I give my machine, they get holes in them and are worthless by the end of the summer.

I even go as far as stuffing foam in the tube to keep it from shaking...well then the lid pops off.

You could give one of these a try. They have divided spots for all tohe tools so they do not bang around and cause holes.

Here we go, I'd venture to say this is pretty rare. I've had this in my storage since 97', never used it(not sure i want to). Now that I have the HX I have the excuse to use it since there is zero storage on the HX other than the tube for the extinguisher and a factory tool kit. I might have to use this for a towel, some waters and a few tools. I have never seen another one of these. The Mrs. bought it for me back in the day.

I really like the water tight cellphone container. Very cool, where does one get a collapsible anchor like that?
