River boating is the best by Far. I even took my first night cruise last night and cant wait to add some LED's!!!!!!!!

I have been in Lake Erie. Rented a cottage for 8 days on an Inland lake and the Maumee River in Toledo Ohio and the Detroit River in Detroit MI and River boating is the best for taking a nice cruise.

My kids liked the inland lake for all the tubing, wakeboarding and skiing.

I am 15 minutes from the Ohio river and about 40 minutes from a small lake. I prefer to drive the 45 minutes to the lake. The river here is nasty. Every time I take the boat out, I have a nice brown ring of crud around it that is hard to clean off. Between the nastiness and current, I dont swim in the river either. For me the fun part of boating is chilling in the water with friends and drinkin some brews and jammin to tunes.

I prefer the most to drive 3+ hours to some huge lakes in southern KY and TN. But I only make it down to them a couple times a year. I am jealous of people who live on big huge awesome lakes.

Here in Florida I cruise the ICW( Inter Coastal waterway). The markers light the channel so pretty cool traveling at night.
