I am looking to pick up 2 used machines, but don't want the exact same model/year. I want to stay away from supercharged, I think.I am looking to spend about 4-5000 per machine, but am flexible. They will be used in a bay on the Great Lakes, so rarely ever calm.

So let me know what I should pick up.

I have a 2010 GTX....love it. It handles the rough water where I ride like a champ. The seat is super comfortable and the S3 hull performs great. I find the 155 hp motor delivers plenty of power with a top end around 54 mph...(depending on the condition of your pump).

I have a cruiser and a racer and love them both. 2010 GTX with the 155 engine with every goodie there is. That is my wife's ski or the ski my guests use. I have an 09 RXT-X with the 255 engine. Could not be happier with the pair. Both very large and yet very agile.

The $4-5k is the hard part. I'd say a 2011 GTI 130 which can be found for a little over $5k. The IBR and throttle by wire are incredible technology for a low price not to mention having a brake that works very well. The other I would get an older RXT, like 05 or so which can be found around $5k as well. It is SC, but the power, acceleration, and top speed are worth it. Just plan on the rebuild and is not a big deal once you accept it and budget for it as normal maintenance.

What not to get? A Spark or an older two seater. If you ride in mostly rough water like you stated, it will beat you up pretty good. Unless your 18 years old and like constant jumping and being tossed around, you may not be happy with your purchase. I guess I'm just getting old.

Thanks. That is good info about the SC. rode a brand new gtr 215 and, WOW! Any thought on a yamaha vx cruiser? (I do realize this is a sea-doo forum)

Thinking about 1 NA mating and 1 SC machine now.
