I have a 97 Challenger, and I was wondering what the 3 "valves" are that are located under the back deck adjacent to the fuel filler, 2 of them have 2 sets of "gas pump" icons beside each, and the other valve has a cap with a chain connected to it, I have ordered a cd manual for the boat so I could learn what some of these items are, but have not received it yet, I would appreciate any information on the purpose and use of these 3 valves.

Post up a pic. There shouldn't be any fuel caps under the deck. The previous owner may have added an aux fuel tank.

Well... come to think of it... the oil tank cap is on the left side of the boat, just under the deck lid. (It has a chain)

But I still can't think of any valves under the deck.

I was just thinking about it. Unlike the 14.5' boats... the fuel valves are not by the driver.

Still... please post a pic... but I think you are talking about your fuel valves. there is 2. One for each engine. And the cap with a chain is probably the flush port.

Yeah I just went and checked again and those 2 valves kinda seem like they are just the fuel valves, one setting shows a green fuel pump, then the other shows a red one with a cross through it, just wanted to make sure. I wll snap a quick picture if this rain ever stops. What is the flush port for?

yeah, 97 had the 2-fuel selector switches located there. he big cap with chain, like Honda said, is the oil cap, and th e2-little caps with chains on, thats where u flush the motors, if ever in salt water...

I figured it out, once I got my cd manual, they are switches to allow fuel to the carbs.:hurray:
