Changed regulator shows 14:2 on idle or revving
But still a slow start and after ten mins of running wont start again just carries on trying to drain batt

Any help.much appriciated
Bloke.I brought it off being an arse
Dont think its solenoid
Cleaned conmections
Any ideas bad starter motor? Bendix?
Thanks in advance

It sounds to me that you have a weak battery, a fully charged battery should show about 13.5V. Try this connect your voltmeter leads to the battery, see what the voltage is when you crank the starter. If it drops to less than 10.5v. the battery is your problem.

But is a.brand new.batt
12v30ah sits.at 12:4 ish when.conected to ski.when.starting gos.to 11 ish when it starts
And when it slow starts it drops.to 10/11 and some times.u can hear lik a starter spin.but no engage

It can really only be three things. Battery, cables (connection or bad), or the starter.

You can NOT guess about the battery. You MUST know the condition of it. If you do not, it will cost you a starter, cables and then a battery as you get frustrated and change it as you do not know what else to do.

So,, as Lou stated, get the battery load tested. If you simply can't believe it is the battery, then at the very least, put the test leads of the meter on the battery and try to start it. I'm betting the meter will read below 12 volts. At 10.8 volts the MPEM will no longer work properly. The starter requires every bit of 12 volts.

I think you answered your own question... It drop to 10/11 volts.

Is it possible to be the starter, yes. However, even if it is bad, I thank you have a bad battery as well.

Ok ive got a cell charger which independantly checks and repairs bad cells so will remove amd put on that I run a bodyhop and have all the tools as completely rebuilt my polaris engine pump etc
So very mech minded but this prob is buggin me specially after a tow back and didnt clamp hose off as.had nothing think engine ok as was low speedsb may remove exhaust manifold and check starter connection I have a borascope could I see connections with that?or are they covered

Right quick update done battery sits at 12:7 out of Ski12:55 in ski and 14:2 running
Starts up but is slow turning still and now.and again just is lazy long beep and sounds like a starter spinning but not engaging any ideas?

I have seen "new" batteries be bad right off the shelf. They may hold a charge but you need to load test them to be sure. I would try another battery before removing the starter. If the 2nd battery still has the same issue then it is your starter or bad grounds.

Add another battery to it with jumper cables and see if it spins faster. Could be that your starter is bad/partially shorted out and is pulling too much juice. Could be that you have a starter wire that rubbed through the insulation and is grounding out a little when you hit the start button. Check your cables thoroughly.
