I saw another ski for sale earlier with the micro touch "injection"... So why exactly does an exhaust have/need electrical/wiring? One would think that a performance exhaust would just have different piping/innards, but what on an exhaust can actually call for electronics?
The WIM's(water injection modules) read the engines rpm and kick 12 water solenoids on and off. Water lines run to one or more areas of the pipe but are only allowed to flow during certain rpm ranges. It's not a matter of cooling the pipe down, in fact they are all shut off before 6k and a dried out pipe revs better. You can design a pipe to work good on either low end or top end but it's very hard to achieve both. A squirt of water helps a high revving pipe pull hard through low and mid range.
Gotcha.. Interesting. Guessing it's something similar to a turbo in like an old dodge shadow?? (I think those turbos (like all I guess) worked off of a turbine and exhaust pressure (?)
