First season with the Seadoo. Bought it the end of last season. It is a 1998 Seadoo GTS.

We will use it some on the KY River and the Lakes throughout Kentucky. Probably spend a lot of time on Dale Hollow Lake as that is our favorite and where we keep the boats.

Looking forward to learning a few things. First off, I need to switch the 2 cycle oil out as it has the not recommended Quicksilver TC-W3 in it. Plan on switching to this Mystic JT-4 full synthetic which meets the API-TC standards I believe.

I plan to post in the help section, will just need to be pointed in the right direction for draining the current 2 cycle oil to refill with the new.

It has a rattle at idle and from what I have read it sounds like I need the updated jet pump cone with the anti rattle spring and such. Plan on ordering one of those. Although it is one of the years I thought they started putting the new anti rattle cones in. Anyway, no rattle when you throttle up and runs great.

Hi and welcome to the forum, what part of KY are you from?

About the oil you selected, I don't see an API-TC rating but I think the JT-4 is the Japanese equivalent so you should be O.K., the oil needs to be low ash, Dr Honda should pick up on this a tell us for sure. Also you have a 720 so you don't need full synthetic, mineral or synthetic blend will work just as well. Quicksilver makes an API-TC PWC oil as well, personally I use SeaDoo XPS2. The Quicksilver TC-W3 oil is not crap, I've been using it in my Mercury outboard for years, it's just the wrong oil for a SeaDoo.

When you change the oil you will need to drain the old, change the oil filter, bleed the system and probably change the injector lines.

The noise you hear is called the SeaDoo rattle and is completely normal, it will go away when the pump loads, if it's objectionable just raise the idle a little.

I just looked and the spec. sheet for the Mystic JT-4 oil, it's fine to use, if you want to save a few bucks you can use a synthetic blend instead of a full synthetic.

Yeah, I don't know what happened. It was fine and then it just went dead. I sent a message to the admin to see if they can maybe fix it.
