Hey guys I am new to the jet boat thing and have little mechanical knowledge but am learning as i go. I recently bought a 99 speedster SK with twin 717engines. I got the boat off of a family member who let the boat sit for about 2 years. It has a few issues any input is greatly appreciated.

The boat makes no beeping noise.

The fuel gauge and starboard rpm gauge does not work.(i put 60 bucks in it so there is enough fuel and oil)

The starboard engine ran great for a while but then stopped. I ran it back to my house on the good motor. now it will crank over but not start. I changed all the spark plugs there is spark (I am checking the compression in the morning) any ideas?

The port side engine overheated and melted all the hoses and the exhaust rubber boot. I replaced all the hoses and boots this engine runs great.

Anyone have any advise or recommendation to these issues or where to find parts or if the parts from other sea doos are compatible with the boat thanks.

Well first of all you can get the beepers at RadioShack for 5 bucks then you hook up the new one the red wire goes to the purple wire and black goes to white this won't solve your issues but it will give you diagnostic codes that will help you figure out your problems

For an extra 2 dollars you get a lifetime warranty on them it's worth it as they die over the years from there look at the beep codes for your ski and they might lead you in the right direction

The fuel gauge can either be the F1 fuse in the baffle (this was my case) or the float is full of gas.

The exhaust overheated for a reason. Make sure water is coming out from the pisser under the tow eye in the back.

The buzzer is a simple but important fix. When you overheat this is the only warning.

Do a compression test on the good motor and if it's within range then dump a bit of fuel down the carbs. If it fires up then rebuild the carbs.

Get the radio shack buzzer, it won't fit the factory hole. I would use that as a temporary fix and then order the correct one from Floyd, the part number is on it. I got one season from the one from the shack. And if you drill the hole out the Floyd one won't fit anymore. I would verify every cooling line is free and clear. I have found what looks like pollen dust that turns into clay packed in lines. Use a compressor and blow gun to clear them out.

What I did was cut the old buzzer out of the plastic casing and put the new buzzer inside the old casing then it will screw right into the hole , you can heat up the old one and the insides will come right out
