Ok so this weekend the babys are coming out for a flush/tune up/wash 'n' wax/ also was recommended to me by a few people on here i should do the jet pump oil. I have both manuals for the 94 XP and 99 GSX printed and in a nice binder. just wondered if there are any tips/tricks you guys might have on doing this :-):cheers:Happy Green Beer Day:cheers:

Elevate...

Elevate the tongue as high as possible so you can remove as much of the old oil possible.

Also, save a glass full and set aside. I say a glass because you can see through it. If you have a small magnet, make sure it's clean and drop it into the glass. Set this small glass full aside and in a day or two, take a peak at it with a light bulb behind it. You'll be looking for water droplets or contaminates (they settle to the bottom over time). After you look for water droplets or any contaminates, pull the magnet and inspect for metal shavings. This will give you an idea of the bearings conditions.

3 buks cheaper, if only that much, i'd buy the seadoo oil, I just impatent, didnt, feel like travel'n, also figured be WAY more than that

i used 75w90 mobil full systhetic and it worked like a charm i got a quart of it for $12. I looked at the seadoo dealer here and they wanted $21 for the qt size bottle.

8 oz...

The oil from BRP is in a small bottle, I think about 8 oz. It's a synthetic polyolester oil, 75w.

I believe the other oils mentioned above will fulfill the requirements just as well.

ok then i guess next question is where can i get me a quart of that there mobil synthetic :agree:

You'll find walmart, Autozone, Advanced Auto, Napa, Carquest, Pepboys they all seem to have it. Ivanke have you ever changed your jet pump oil?

have rubber mallot handy to pop the cone/s, may get lucky and man-handle it and she'll give...good luck

go figure bought the oil at advanced for 10.99 autozone has it for 8.99 lol :)

Mallot in hand

are these babys hard to change?:ack:

It's really not hard to change the pump oil remove the bolts for the steering and trim 8mm to 10mm next remove the 4 bolts holding the pump housing usually 13mm becareful not to lose the two o rings on the top of the housing next remove the three bolts 10mm on the cone and gentle tap the cone with mallot and pull the cone off. be careful not to damage the o ring. clean out the cone with parts cleaner and tip ski to get the old oil out. next put the cone back on losen the allen bolt in cone so you can fill the oil back in. finally put bolts back in putting thread locker on the threads of bolts and tighten them back in and reassemble in reverse of removal.

Hope that helps and your pump will only take about 4-6 ozs of oil.
good luck and

thanks for all the help!! did both the gsx and xp today no problems went like piece of cake, new oil, replaced the orings since i had new ones laying around :) and put new oil in
