Just bought a new 2009 Speedster 150, 255 hp.

Somewhere I read that it operates in 'reduced performance mode' until the 10 hour service, at which time the dealer resets the computer for full performance.

Is this really true ? No fair guessing !

I did search the forum first !

Call the dealer to find out. (then let us know)

I'm not going to guess... but this is the first time I've heard of that.

The only time that I know that it runs in a reduced mode is when there are issues. (limp mode)

It was told the same thing about about my '07 Jetskis, I do believe the redline rpm went up some after the 'reset'.

UncleJay,

Can you tell me what you paid for your new Speedster since I am looking at purchasing one? (out the door excluding sales tax)

I am assuming that yours is new.

I know my Ski-doo had a break in period. Didn't have to be set by dealer. It was just programmed to do it when the time came. When it did, it flat out came to life.

08 Speedster

Last year I picked up an 08 Speedster 200 and heard several stories around what you are talking about. When I picked it up I asked the tech that talked me through the pre delivery and he told me that's an urban legend. Nothing they the Bud's system that tunes or de-tunes new boats.
