ive been having a few problems with starting my ski managed to get it to a tech today and he adjusted the carbs and it ran great in the workshop i towed it to the water and launched it and guess what it wont start! i pulled the plug and it looked like the spark was a little weak, could a weak spark cause it to not start? and could putting it into water/underload cause a weak spark if something not working corectly? please help starting to lose faith

Sounds like the idle is set too low. Try giving it a little throttle when you start the ski, you kinda have to pull the choke and hit the throttle with your forearm. The idle on the trailer should be about 2600-2800rpm, when the ski is in the water about 1200-1500rpm. I doubt the spark is weak, usually its either there or not (I'm assuming it starts on the trailer but not on the water).

The idle adj. is on the front carb., the carb. closest to the mag., there's a screw with a "T" handle near the base of the carb..

Have the Raves been cleaned? Is this a new problem? Happy Easter! Check water separator filter? Change plugs?
Do you have a clear glass fuel filter just after the carbs to see fuel flow? You'd see a problem.
Once fuel enters the bafel it is circulated until its used. Set the RPM in water at 1400. What do the *plugs look like?
Back it down to the water straped on the trailor, start it, adjust the carbs LS & HS jets.
ALWAYS....at 1st recognition of a performance problem do a compression test, that ski should be ..about 165 psi.

on land idle is around 2500 not sure what it is in the water as it wont start! no i havent cleaned the rave valves, plugs are very new less than 2 hours on them water seprator is clean glass filter is clean and flowing with fuel when i turn it over compression is 150psi on both cylinders
also ive stried starting it with and without throttle and choke doesnt seem to make a difference also tried taking the plugs out inbetween tries and drieing them to give them a good chance plugs are wet with fuel, i bought new needles and seat kits but tech reckon it didnt need them.

sometimes it does sometimes it doesnt ! took it to tech today again he reckons its a lack of fuel getting to carbs he told me to remove the extra filter i put in and put in a primer bulb which worked to start with both in and out the water but after 30mins it would start again just about to buy another ski trouble is ive thrown alot of money at this ski

Excuse me if I have asked this before, I think you had another thread.

Do you have the grey tempo fuel lines?

Check and see if the fuel line filter is pointed in the correct direction.

Also I don't think I would put a primer bulb in the line, all you're going to do is flood the engine.
