I have a 1996 Seadoo GTX and it runs great and starts good. I run seafoam through it and good gas and Quicksilver PWC oil. Is there anything else I can do to make it faster and without messing it up?Also is there any tips on making it last long and stay reliable?
First thing I can think of, is to stop putting sea foam in it. I displaces oil. The only additive you need is marine stay-bil to make sure the water stays out of the fuel, and to keep the carbs clean.
Making it faster and more reliable is counter productive. You really cant do much of both at the same time. Make sure the pump, wear ring and all pump components are in top shape. That way you eliminate any possible cavitation.
The only modification I have made is an aftermarket intake grate. This will not add any noticable speed difference but it will make the ski more maneuverable.
SeaDoo does a good job of getting max. performance and reliability out of their products. I have always believed if you want a faster ski buy a faster ski.
But the only way to get significantly greater speed is to have a PWC with significantly greater horsepower... jetpumps require horsepower to go faster. Probably a PWC with a supercharged engine is the only way to go significantly faster. Speed costs, how fast can you afford to go?
